About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Helena. I know from personal experience that it can feel like a big step to reach out for support, and I want to reassure you that by doing so, you have already shown the courage and self-awareness necessary to explore the challenges that you may be up against.
It's natural to have a a lot of questions at this stage: to help with this, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. This will also give us a chance to see if we are the right fit for each other, since the relationship between counsellor and client is one of the most important parts of successful therapy.
Practice description
As a fully qualified Integrative counsellor, my working style is flexible and will draw on a range of therapeutic approaches that best suit your unique situation and needs. As we work together, I will offer you a safe, caring and non-judgmental space in which to explore any challenges you may be facing.
Our therapeutic journey will be led by you: there is no need to decide upon how much or little you want to achieve at this point; we will simply start where you are and see where this takes us. If you feel I may be the right counsellor for you, I’d love to hear from you. And if not, I wish you all the best in finding the support you need.
My first session
Following our initial phone consultation, you will decide whether you would like to arrange your first counselling session.
Once we have agreed a suitable day and time - and whether you would like to meet face to face or online - I will send you confirmation of your appointment via email. The email will also include a simple, non-binding contract for you to read in advance. A contract is an important starting point for all therapeutic work, as it ensures that we are working safely and ethically at all times. You can choose to sign and return it before we meet, or we can do this together in our first session.
During our first session, I will ask you some further questions to ensure that I fully understand what you would like to get from counselling.
