About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Nicole, a registered BACP counsellor offering online and telephone therapy to adults across the UK.

I came into this work through my own experience of therapy and a lifelong curiosity about what makes us who we are. I've always been fascinated by how talking and support can be the foundation for real change and growth. My own journey through therapy showed me this was the work I needed to do – supporting others through their own change.

I specialise in anxiety, depression, bereavement, ADHD and neurodivergence, and chronic illness. These aren't just professional interests – I have lived experience of ADHD and chronic illness myself. This personal understanding means I can bring genuine empathy and insight to our work together, not just professional knowledge.

My approach is person-centred at its core. You're at the heart of everything we do. I'll follow your lead, create a judgment-free space, and trust that you're the expert on your own life. I also weave in CBT and REBT techniques when they're helpful – practical tools for working with thought patterns or gently challenging beliefs that might be keeping you stuck.

What matters most to me is being authentic in my work, so you feel encouraged to bring your whole self too. I value connection, compassion, and challenge. Therapy isn't always comfortable, but it should always feel genuine and collaborative.

I work with adults (18+) from all backgrounds. My practice is open and inclusive – whoever you are, you're welcome here. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, navigating ADHD or neurodivergence, adjusting to chronic illness, or just trying to make sense of how you're feeling, I'm here to support you at your own pace.

Practice description

I offer online video counselling and telephone counselling throughout the UK. You can access support from home – no travel needed, just a private space where you feel comfortable.

Sessions are available via Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, WhatsApp video call, or by telephone. All sessions are 50 minutes and typically happen weekly, though we can find what works for you.

I work person-centred, which means I follow your lead in a non-judgmental space where you can explore at your own pace. I also use CBT and REBT techniques when helpful – practical tools for understanding thought patterns and gently challenging beliefs that might be keeping you stuck.

Every session is tailored to you. No two people are the same, so we'll work collaboratively on what matters most to you, whether that's a specific issue or making sense of how you're feeling.

I bring lived experience of ADHD and chronic illness, which means I offer genuine empathy alongside professional knowledge – I understand some of what you're going through because I've been there too.

I specialise in supporting adults (18+) with:

Anxiety – Generalised anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed.

Depression – Low mood, feeling stuck, hopeless, or disconnected.

Bereavement and Grief – Processing loss in all its forms, whether the death of a loved one or other significant losses.

ADHD and Neurodivergence – Understanding and managing challenges of being neurodivergent, including ADHD and autism. Support with emotional regulation, executive function, identity, relationships, and late diagnosis.

Chronic Illness – Adjusting to life with ongoing health conditions, the emotional impact, grief for the life you had, and daily challenges.

I can also support with stress, self-esteem, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and self-understanding.

You don't need a diagnosis to start therapy. If something doesn't feel right, that's reason enough to reach out.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call before we start – no pressure, just a relaxed conversation by phone or video. You can tell me what's been going on, ask questions about how I work, and see if we feel like a good fit. There's no obligation to continue afterwards.

If it feels right for both of us, we'll arrange your first full session. This is 50 minutes where we'll explore what's brought you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and what to expect from our work together. It's also a chance to ask any remaining questions.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so I'll do everything I can to make it feel safe and welcoming.
