Whether you’re looking for support for a child, young person or as an adult, you’re very welcome to book an initial phone call for a chat, here:
https://www.patchworkpathways.co.uk/book-your-initial-call
Part of my work is with schools, colleges and care providers, offering both individual sessions for specific children and young people, and regular on-site support for multiple students.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and can provide all required identification, insurance and professional documentation, making the referral and onboarding process straightforward and efficient.
If it would be helpful, I am able to go into school to work with your child or teen.
About me and my therapy practice
Alongside my ongoing work with adults, I am a specialist in working with children, teenagers and young people. With a MSc in Counselling Children and Young People, and with over 20 years’ experience, including within education settings, I connect with and 'get' how difficult life can feel, for both them, and their families.
Parents often tell me that their child won’t talk to them, doesn’t want help, or has become increasingly isolated. Many young people who are reluctant to engage with support find that talking with me feels different.
As a therapist and a mum, I understand how emotional difficulties can affect the whole family, and how hard it can be to know how to help.
Many of the young people I work with are thoughtful and sensitive, but can find themselves overwhelmed, anxious, or carrying more than feels manageable. Many are angry and feel misunderstood. Many withdraw and isolate themselves from the family around them.
I work with adults experiencing similar feelings of anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, overwhelm, chronic illness, and the lasting impact of earlier life experiences. Many adults come to therapy feeling stuck, exhausted from carrying everything alone, or repeating patterns they don’t fully understand. Some feel lonely or sad, struggling with things at work or at home, or the challenges that life can bring us. Many have difficulty making sense of what they're experiencing or how they're feeling.
Building a genuine connection is at the heart of my work, whether I’m working with children, teenagers or adults.
I can help make sense of what you’re experiencing.
We work together to find what feels right for you.
You don’t have to carry it all on your own.
Practice description
Are you looking to access therapy from your own space, in the comfort of your own home, or somewhere that feels more convenient to you? I offer online counselling via secure video call, providing support while maintaining confidentiality.
The tranquil countryside location of Quinton in Northamptonshire, offers a relaxing and private setting for my therapeutic work, providing a peaceful safe space for you to be you.
With ample free parking on site, a kitchen providing complimentary tea and coffee and comfy sofas in a spacious waiting area, it really is a lovely place to be. Whether you’ve arrived ahead of time and are waiting for your appointment, or waiting for someone that you have come with, you’re welcome to relax and use the free WiFi.
I also work from my therapy room in the beautiful village of Blisworth, thoughtfully designed to put you at ease when you arrive.
I have a welcoming therapy suite in the heart of Central Milton Keynes. Designed to provide a calm, private and comfortable environment, the space provides a place where you can take time for yourself and feel supported.
I have carefully selected the settings I work from, to provide a space that feels calm, containing, and safe.
I work with children, teenagers, young people, and adults, some of whom don’t always find it easy to talk, so I work carefully and at your pace, using conversation and various therapeutic approaches where helpful.
