About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you have been coping alone or feeling unsure where to turn. You might be feeling anxious, low or stuck- perhaps struggling with relationships, self esteem, or the impact of past experiences. Sometimes there isn't one clear reason, just a sense that life feels heavier than it should.
I offer a calm, compassionate and confidential space where you can feel safe enough to reflect, heal and reconnect with yourself. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you find your way forward with greater clarity and confidence.
My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a deep appreciation for the complexities of being human. At the heart of my work is the relationship we build together. I believe that when you feel genuinely heard and accepted, meaningful change becomes possible.
I work with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and life transitions. Every person's journey is unique, and together we can find pace and approach that feels right for you.
Practice description
I work across two locations as well as online. I offer face-to-face sessions in Northampton area on Mondays and Tuesdays, and in Dorset on Fridays. I also offer online counselling sessions for clients who prefer to work remotely.
You are very welcome to get in touch if you would like to ask any questions or arrange an initial conversations. There is no pressure or obligation, we can simple explore whether working together feels right for you.
My first session
Before booking a first session, I offer a free 10 minute consultation call. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss your needs and for you to ask any questions, and to see whether working together feels like the right fit.
In our first session, I will gently guide us through a short client details form. This helps me ensure that I can work safely and effectively with you. We will also take time to go through the counselling contract together, so you have a clear understanding of how I work, confidentiality, and practical arrangements.
Once these foundations are in place, we can begin to explore what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to gain from our work together. The session is paced with care, and there is no expectation to share more than you feel ready to.
