About me and my therapy practice
I work in an integrative way, bringing together humanistic, psychodynamic, relational and developmental approaches to help you understand yourself and others.
As everyone is unique, I tailor therapy to your needs. Together we explore what’s happening now, and how earlier experiences may be shaping how you feel and relate today. I aim to support you in developing greater self-understanding that brings about meaningful change.
Practice description
It’s natural to feel nervous or unsure about starting therapy. Sharing even a little of your personal world can feel hugely different or uncomfortable. I offer a calm and supportive space where we explore what matters, at your own pace, building trust and checking in regularly to ensure your aims are being met.
I work in Matlock and Belper.
My first session
The first session is assessment-based and is 60 - 70 minutes. This is to discuss the issues you wish to bring to counselling, as well as to understand your expectations and goals. I can answer any questions you may have and go through the counselling agreement, which includes information on privacy, confidentiality and details of my ethical frameworks. At the end of the assessment, we decide together whether to make a regular counselling appointment. I work on an open-ended basis, withh no time restrictions.
