About me and my therapy practice
I work integratively, bringing together humanistic, psychodynamic, relational and developmental approaches to help you understand yourself, your relationships, and how you connect with both. As everyone’s story is unique, I tailor therapy to your individual needs. Together, exploring what’s happening now and how earlier experiences may still be shaping how you feel and relate today. I aim to support you in developing greater self-understanding, acceptance that brings about meaningful change.
Practice description
It’s natural to feel nervous about starting therapy. Sharing a little of your personal world can feel like a big step. I offer a calm, safe, supportive space where we explore what matters to you at your own pace, building trust and checking in regularly so your needs are met.
I work from Alfreton (DE55) and Belper (DE56).
My first session
The first session is assessment-based and is 60 - 70 minutes. This is to discuss the issues you wish to bring to counselling, as well as to understand your expectations and goals. I can answer any questions you may have and go through the counselling agreement, which includes information on privacy, confidentiality and details of my ethical frameworks. At the end of the assessment, we decide together whether to make a regular counselling appointment. I work on an open-ended basis, from offering six sessions to two years.

Abuse, Addictions, Anxiety, Bereavement, Body/somatic therapy, Coercive control, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Narcissism, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Spirituality, Stalking, Trauma, Women's issues
