About me and my therapy practice
Coming into therapy can feel daunting, with worries about being judged, misunderstood, or not knowing what to say. You might be seeking support for anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship challenges or simply want to understand yourself better.
Therapy can support you in understanding patterns, building confidence, and developing greater self-compassion and resilience. By exploring your experiences in a supportive environment, you may feel more able to navigate challenges, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward positive change in a way that feels manageable and empowering.
My experience is working with people who have addicitons, traumas, depression, bereavment and anxieties. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
Practice description
As a humansitic counsellor, I offer a non directed apporach which allows you to bring what you like without a format to follow. Sessions can be booked freely at your time, whether that's weekly, fortnightly and monthly, that's up to you.
Throughout our theraputic journey we can work together as long as you would like. This gives you the option to end when you are ready or when you would like. We can work together online, over the telephone or face to face which can be a location near your area.
You can expect me to share my observations and challange your thoughts with postive regard for you. I use a wide range of various theories in my practice to support you and work from various modelities.
My first session
Your first session is split into two parts to help you feel comfortable and informed. Before booking a full session, I offer a free 20-minute introductory talk. This gives us a chance to discuss what brought you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and provide general information about how I work. It’s an informal chat designed to help you feel at ease and decide if counselling is right for you.
The first full session then allows us to explore your experiences in more depth. During this session, we talk about your concerns, goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. You will also complete a brief form to provide some background information, and we establish a counselling contract to clarify confidentiality, session structure, and our working agreement. This ensures that therapy is safe, clear, and tailored to your needs.
The aim of these sessions is to give you a clear understanding of the process, provide a supportive space to be heard, and begin building the trust needed for effective therapy. My goal is that you leave feeling understood, supported, and confident in the next steps of your therapeutic journey.
