About me and my therapy practice
Many of the people I work with appear capable and composed on the outside, yet inside feel anxious, uncertain or disconnected from their own needs. You might find yourself overthinking interactions, struggling to set boundaries, or repeating relationship patterns that leave you feeling unseen or resentful.
Rather than treating anxiety as something to eliminate, we take time to understand it. Often it carries unspoken fear, anger, grief or unmet needs that were once difficult to express. By gently exploring these experiences, you can begin to recognise long-standing patterns and develop a stronger, more grounded sense of yourself.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means we pay attention to how earlier relationships and unconscious dynamics shape your present life. Therapy becomes a space to think, reflect and experiment with new ways of relating — both in the room and beyond it.
I am a BACP-registered psychodynamic counsellor based in Cheltenham, offering in-person and online therapy. I provide a steady, thoughtful and inclusive space, welcoming clients of all genders, sexualities and neurotypes.
Practice description
I trained over four years with Gloucestershire Counselling Services (BACP-accredited) and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. I am fully insured and DBS-checked.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means we pay attention to how early relationships and unconscious patterns continue to shape your present emotions, sense of self and ways of relating. Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, we aim to understand the deeper roots of anxiety, self-doubt and relational difficulties, supporting more lasting and meaningful change.
Alongside my counselling training, I hold a BSc in Nutrition and worked as a Nutritionist for 15 years. This experience can be helpful if you are struggling with food, body image, or issues of control, perfectionism and self-worth, as these are often closely connected to identity and emotional safety.
In addition to my professional training, I bring a thoughtful awareness of complex social and relational dynamics. I work with sensitivity to shame, boundaries, agency and survival strategies, and I welcome clients navigating marginalised or difficult experiences, including those related to sexuality, intimacy and identity.
