I work Tuesday to Saturday daytimes, generally with the first session of the day at 0800 and the last at 1700.About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Caz. I am a Humanistic counsellor and I work with individual clients (18+) in Littlehampton, Worthing and online via zoom.
If you've not experienced counselling before, you might be wondering what it involves. I describe it as a series of conversations with a purpose - talking things through with someone that is trained to really listen, not to judge, but to value you and your experiences and to honour confidentiality.
You choose what we talk about, whether it's a particular situation that is impacting your day-to-day life, a decision you're struggling to make or just a sense that things are not as you want them to be. It's ok to talk about any part of your life and personality, and to express the full range of your emotions - counselling sessions can contain laughter and lightness as well as feelings such as fear, anger or sadness.
My role is to support you to slow down and explore what is happening in your life at a pace that feels right for you. I listen with care to support you in finding ways to cope with whatever you are facing, without placing any expectation on you to change.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked for 25 years in Learning & Development and management, having completed postgraduate professional qualifications in law and HR. The strong focus on communication and connection across my former roles underpins my current work and has informed my friendly, professional approach.
I have worked with adults of all ages about issues including anxiety, anger, depression, disappointment, living with chronic health conditions, stress and loss. I have particular experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse and helping people rebuild self-esteem and self-compassion - but whatever you wish to bring, we can explore it together.
Practice description
I believe we all have the capacity to grow and adapt, so I won't diagnose or tell you what do do. I will work with you to explore your experiences, your patterns, and what might be getting in the way of your responding differently to life's challenges.
If you're looking to learn about yourself and to feel seen, heard and valued, please contact me.
My first session
To help you get a sense of whether we could work well together, I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute Zoom call. This is for you to share what you're hoping to gain from counselling and to ask me any questions you may have. You can decide at the end of the call if you want to book sessions or you can take some time to think it over. If I feel a different type of support might be more suitable for you, I'll let you know with care and honesty. If we decide to work together, I charge £60 per 50-minute counselling session and we will agree a regular weekly time slot and an initial number of sessions.
