About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like life has changed in ways you didn’t expect?
Maybe you don’t recognise yourself in the same way anymore, or you find yourself repeating patterns that no longer make sense. You might feel anxious, low, disconnected, or unsure where you fit — even if, on the surface, things look “fine”.
Many people come to therapy not because something is obviously wrong, but because something no longer fits. Often, that feeling comes during periods of change or life transitions — when you’re trying to make sense of who you are, where you fit, or how to move forward.
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t need clear goals or the right words. We can slow things down and begin wherever you are, at a pace that feels manageable.
Therapy is my vocation, but it was a long journey to get here. I bring a wealth of life experience into my work and have spent many years working closely with people in different settings. Life hasn’t always been easy, and I understand how experiences, relationships, and losses can shape us in ways that linger. Nothing you bring will shock me, and you don’t need to protect me from your story.
I work collaboratively and integratively, because no two people are the same. Each person brings their own history, values, and ways of coping, and therapy should reflect that. I don’t see myself as the expert on you — you are. My role is to listen, reflect, and work alongside you, helping you understand yourself more fully and find a way forward that feels right for you.
Above all, I care deeply about helping people find greater peace in their lives — by understanding what matters to them, shedding the damage left by others, and learning how to live in a way that feels more true and sustainable.
Practice description
I run a small, independent counselling practice offering online therapy to adults across the UK. Working online allows sessions to be flexible and accessible, while still offering a private, contained space where you can feel comfortable talking openly.
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. Some people come with a clear sense of what they want to explore, while others arrive feeling unsure or confused — both are welcome. You don’t need to have all the answers before starting therapy.
My role isn’t to tell you what to do or who to be, but to work alongside you. I see therapy as a space to reflect, notice patterns, and gently explore what’s going on beneath the surface. At times, this might involve looking back at earlier experiences; at others, it may be about understanding how things show up in your life now. Often, it’s about helping you hear yourself more clearly.
I aim to offer a calm, reliable, and respectful therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe enough to be honest — even about things that feel difficult or confusing. Sessions are one-to-one, confidential, and shaped around you, with a consistent structure and clear boundaries that support the work.
I work ethically and professionally in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, attend regular clinical supervision, and hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance. I’m open about my limits of competence and will always discuss this with you, including exploring referrals or additional support if that would be more appropriate.
I value open communication and encourage feedback about how therapy feels for you. We can review and adjust the work together as needed, so therapy remains something that supports you rather than something you feel you need to fit into.
My first session
Before starting therapy, I offer a free 30-minute online consultation. This is simply a chance for us to meet, talk a little about what’s brought you here, and see whether working together feels right. There’s no pressure and no obligation to continue — it’s about giving you space to get a sense of me and how I work.
If you decide to go ahead, the first full session is about beginning the work together in a way that feels safe and manageable. We’ll spend some time going through practical things such as confidentiality, boundaries, and how sessions work, so everything feels clear and transparent. You’ll be sent a therapy agreement beforehand, which we can also talk through together if you’d like.
There’s no right or wrong way to do therapy. You don’t need to know what to say, where to start, or what the “goal” should be. Some people arrive with lots they want to talk about; others feel unsure or stuck — both are completely OK. We’ll take things at your pace, and you’re always in control of what you share.
I work in a client-led way because no two people are the same. Each person brings their own life experiences, relationships, and ways of coping, and these shape who they are today. That’s why I work integratively — rather than following a fixed model, I adapt how I work to suit you, your needs, and what you’d like to explore.
I don’t see myself as the expert on you — you are. My role is to listen, reflect, and work alongside you, helping you make sense of things and notice patterns that may be holding you back or no longer serving you. The therapeutic relationship we build together is unique, and it’s an important part of the work.
Many people feel nervous before their first session, and that’s completely normal. My aim is to offer a calm, supportive space where you can begin therapy feeling heard, respected, and accepted as you are.
