About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Olivia, a Level 7 qualified counsellor working with adults and young people. I offer a warm and accepting space where you can come exactly as you are, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, caught in unhelpful patterns, uncertain, or wanting to understand yourself and experiences better.

My approach

My approach is integrative and highly individualised. I place importance on understanding you as a whole person- your experiences, strengths, challenges and the meaning you make of them- rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model of therapy.

I may draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches in our work together. This is always done collaboratively, with your consent and involvement and with an emphasis on your autonomy and voice within the therapeutic process. I actively encourage you to share what feels supportive, what doesn’t and what you may need from our work together.

I recognise that each client’s needs are different and may change over time. Some people benefit from a slower, reflective pace, while others prefer a more structured or exploratory approach. Ultimately, I aim to work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you, prioritising collaboration, trust and emotional safety throughout our work together.

Practice description

I hold a Master’s degree in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Nottingham and have specialist counselling training in working with children and young people. I also have experience supporting adults across a variety of settings.

I have supported clients with a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and panic
  • Depression and low mood
  • Self-harm and suicidal ideation
  • Emotional, physical, and sexual abuse
  • Low self-esteem
  • Sexual and gender identity
  • Neurodivergence (particularly individuals with diagnoses or traits of ADHD and Autism)
  • Behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Relationship challenges (including family, peer, and romantic relationships)
  • School avoidance and related educational difficulties

As well as within my role as a therapist, I have supported neurodivergent clients in advisory roles, supporting them in navigating their challenges, building self-acceptance and recognising their strengths and ways of experiencing the world. This experience informs my counselling practice, where I continue to take a neurodiversity-affirming approach and tailor my work to each client’s individual needs.

I also hold a degree in Education and have worked in primary, secondary, further and higher education settings, which complements my work with children, young people and those navigating educational settings.

I hold an Enhanced DBS check and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, maintaining high standards of ethical and professional practice.
