About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor offering a holistic, client-centred approach that supports change on emotional and physical levels.
I work with the understanding that healing is multi-dimensional, and that effective therapy draws from more than one model. By integrating a range of therapeutic approaches, I tailor my work to meet each client’s individual needs.
I have over 10 years of experience working with families, children, adults and parents within multiple settings including; educational settings, counselling services, community support, residential and wraparound care.
These roles and experiences offering me a deeper understanding of the complexities of relationships, family dynamics, parent hood, lone and co-parenting experiences and challenges.
Working within London boroughs (NHS Talking Therapies) I have supported many clients with a range of mental health difficulties, meeting individuals from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds, supporting all through their journey with care and understanding.
As a multiracial, neurodivergent, female with my own lived experience of the world, I have a personal understanding of some of the challenges individuals are faced with when accessing health care. I hold a space for all and every topic to be explored within the safety of our therapeutic relationship and environment.
Practice description
My approach supports clients experiencing emotional overwhelm, relationship conflicts, life transition challenges or those seeking greater self-understanding and personal growth.
I aim to offer a compassionate, collaborative space in which clients can explore challenges, develop insight, and move forward with increased clarity and confidence.
Sessions may incorporate psychoeducation, mindfulness, creative techniques, and body-awareness practices, EFT depending on what feels most appropriate and helpful for the client. This flexible approach allows therapy to adapt as your needs evolve.
I provide a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental environment, recognising that difficulties often impact multiple areas of life, including relationships, self-esteem, work, and overall wellbeing. Therapy offers space to explore these experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
If you are unsure whether counselling is right for you, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have.
My first session
During our first session we will go through an assessment together, this may sound daunting but it is something I will support you through and we can go at a pace that is comfortable for you, welcoming breaks if and when needed.
This assessment will be held as a discussion between the two of us, under strict confidence, and in keeping with the BACP's Ethical Framework. We can discuss the client-therapist agreement, your expectations of therapy, goals you may have, themes and we will fill in an "About me" form answering questions such as; medical history, personal information (D.O.B, address) Risk assessment etc.
This is the starting point of our therapeutic relationship. This is where you get to express your worries, hopes, therapeutic outcomes, questions and I get a better understanding of where you are at and what you need from me.
If you are comfortable to move forward with our sessions we will schedule you in, but if you'd prefer to work with someone else or you feel therapy isn't for you, we can discuss your next steps.
