About me and my therapy practice
I work as a person-centred therapist, which means I place each individual at the heart of the therapeutic process. I believe that everyone is unique and has their own experiences, values, and ways of understanding the world. My role is to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what feels important to you, at your own pace.
I work collaboratively, guided by empathy, genuineness, and respect. Rather than directing or diagnosing, I listen carefully and support you in developing greater self-understanding, clarity, and self-acceptance. I trust in your capacity for growth and change, and therapy is shaped by what you bring to each session.
I welcome people from all backgrounds and aim to work in a way that is inclusive, affirming, and responsive to individual needs. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, or simply feeling stuck, I will work alongside you to help you make sense of your experiences and move towards greater wellbeing.
Practice description
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but you don't have to do it alone. I'm here to offer support, understanding, and a space where you can be yourself.
We live in a world where we're more connected than ever. Our phones, social media, and constant access to others mean we're rarely out of touch. Yet many people tell me they feel lonelier than ever, unheard, unseen, or unsure where they can speak openly without fear of judgement. Sometimes we're surrounded by noise but rarely given the opportunity to truly be listened to.
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, in a way that feels right for you. My role isn't to tell you what to do or offer quick solutions, but to walk alongside you with empathy, honesty, and genuine understanding.
I believe that when we feel truly heard and accepted, often for the first time in a long while, meaningful change can begin. Given the right environment, we all have the capacity to better understand ourselves, reconnect with what matters to us, and find a way forward.
I work with adults experiencing a range of challenges, including anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, and life transitions. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply unsure of how you feel, counselling can provide a space to make sense of what's going on for you.
I also have experience supporting young people aged 15–18. In a world where many young people feel increasing pressure to fit in, perform, and seek approval from others, having a safe and accepting space to talk openly can be incredibly valuable.
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I offer both online and in-person sessions. If you'd like to ask any questions or get a sense of how it might feel to work together, you're very welcome to get in touch to arrange a free 15-minute introductory chat.
My first session
Before beginning counselling, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call via phone or Zoom. This gives us the opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to counselling, answer any initial questions you may have, and decide whether working together feels like the right fit for you.
If you choose to proceed, our first full session will focus on creating a safe and supportive foundation for our work together. We will go through the counselling contract, outlining what you can expect from me and what I ask from you in return.
Prior to your first session, and occasionally throughout our work together, I will ask you to complete some brief paperwork. This helps ensure that I have the information needed to support you effectively. I am happy to guide you through this and answer any questions, either in advance or during your session.
This initial session is an opportunity to begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship, establish clear boundaries, and create a shared understanding as we move forward.
