About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor, drawing from person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT approaches. I also work creatively when it feels helpful, using images, metaphors or reflective exercises, particularly when words are hard to find.

The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel heard, safe and accepted as you are. I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

My style is warm, calm and down-to-earth. I offer a reflective, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, and consider the choices available to you.

People come to counselling for many reasons, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, parenting concerns or experiences of trauma. Counselling can offer space to explore these difficulties safely and notice patterns that may be affecting your life today.

You do not need to know what to talk about or how to begin. We can take this one step at a time. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities, and you are welcome to get in touch to see whether we might be a good fit.

Practice description

I offer counselling sessions in person from counselling rooms in Tunbridge Wells and securely online via Microsoft Teams.

My counselling room is based at the Tunbridge Wells Counselling Hub on Castle Street, TN1, a five-minute walk from the mainline train and bus stations, with several nearby car parks. Online sessions are offered via a secure and confidential video platform.

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, parenting concerns and experiences of trauma. I also support clients who may be struggling with self-harm or suicidal thoughts, offering a compassionate and containing space to explore these experiences safely and at their own pace.

My practice is relational and collaborative, and sessions are adapted to each client’s needs and preferences. I aim to offer an inclusive and accessible practice, where we work at your pace and you remain in control of what you choose to explore.

If you have any access needs, please feel free to let me know and we can discuss how best to support you.

Fees

Individual counselling sessions for adults (18+) are £60 for a 50-minute session.

Single-session therapy is £70 for a 50-minute session.

I offer a reduced fee of £45 for counselling students and trainee counsellors.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity to see whether we can work together and if my approach feels right for you. We will discuss a working agreement and gather some essential information, which is part of good ethical practice.

I usually begin with an initial assessment, exploring what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from our work together. You do not need to share everything at once. We will focus on what feels most important to you.

There is no pressure or expectation in the first session, just an open and supportive space to explore whether this feels like the right fit.
