About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified therapist offering in-person sessions in Northumberland and online.

I became a therapist because I have always been interested in listening to people and hearing their stories, I was a teacher for over 20 years; my favourite part of teaching was forming positive relationships with students and helping them to achieve their potential. This deeply influences my therapeutic style, which prioritises your wellbeing, self-discovery and growth above all else. I believe that by understanding ourselves better and the reasons for our actions, we can move towards healing and growth.

I work intergratively, which means I draw from a range of different models to best suit your needs. I work with individual clients experiencing a wide range of issues, including:

• Depression and loneliness

• Anxiety

• Low self-esteem

• Relationship or family issues

• Stress and burnout

• Life transitions

• Addictive behaviours

• Trauma

Practice description

My practice is based in a calm, welcoming building in the heart of Morpeth. It’s a quiet, professional space that many people find feels safe and non-clinical — more like a comfortable place to pause and talk. The setting offers privacy and a sense of calm.

I can help you to explore and understand who you are, your relationships, your problems and your life. I believe that the relationship formed between the client and their therapist, is the most important part of therapy and I will work to make sure that the therapy you receive best fits your needs and goals.

My first session

In our first session together, we’ll spend some time getting to know you and what has brought you to counselling. I'll ask some questions about parts of your life history to help me understand what you’ve been through and what you might need now. You’re always in control of what you share, and we go at your pace.
