About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Integrative Psychotherapist with 8+ years experience working in the field of mental health, holding a BS / BSc in Psychology and a MA/MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have specific experience within both the private and public sector working with anxiety, depression, trauma, neuro-diversity, substance misuse and food related difficulties.
I believe my role as a therapist is not to change others, but to provide them with the things they need in order to thrive. Within our therapy we may explore opportunities for repairable experiences, emotional regulation and work on practical tools that best support you. My collaborative approach prioritises fostering lasting growth and well-being by cultivating mindfulness, compassion, and connection.
Having personally experienced the profound impact of therapy, I dedicate myself to providing that same space for others. I am devoted to fostering a secure, compassionate, and inquisitive environment where individuals feel empowered to explore their inner lives and cultivate a deeper understanding of their interpersonal connections and their place in the world. I operate within an anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and intersectional framework. The responsibility of supporting individuals during vulnerable times is a task which I uphold with the highest level of care and respect.
Practice description
My way of working focuses on understanding and meeting your specific individual circumstances and needs. As an Integrative trained psychotherapist, I draw upon a diverse toolkit of evidence-based approaches including person-centred, gestalt and relational psychodynamic frameworks in order to provide personalised care aligned with your goals and specific requirements.
My first session
I offer an optional complimentary 20-minuet introductory consultation prior to booking an initial session. While this conversation does not constitute a formal therapy session, it serves as a valuable opportunity for us to explore your goals and for you to get a sense if my approach is the right fit for your current specific needs. It is important to select a therapist who resonates with you.
Within our initial session, we will collaboratively explore our therapeutic agreement. During this process, I will share things such as privacy rules, cancellation policies and provide time for you to ask any questions. At your own pace, we will explore what brings you here, this may include thinking about symptoms, personal histories, and current support systems. It is common to feel nervous, awkward, or even blank when first meeting a new therapist. I hold this in mind, seeking to offer a gentle and supportive space, ensuring you feel safe as we look into your current challenges together.
