About me and my therapy practice
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming or even scary, but you’re not alone. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and at ease. My goal is to help you build a positive therapeutic relationship, so you feel comfortable as we work together on your journey to healing and personal growth.
I’m a qualified counsellor trained in Person-Centred Counselling, which means our sessions are focused entirely on you—your experiences, your pace, and your goals. I work one-to-one with adults (18+) and offer flexible online counselling sessions to suit your schedule, including options for shift workers and those with busy lives.
To help you decide if I’m the right therapist for you, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. This gives us a chance to connect and see if we’re a good fit, because the therapeutic relationship is a key part of your progress.
Practice description
I’m a warm, compassionate therapist who believes in your potential to grow and heal. I provide a space where you can be yourself and work towards becoming the best version of you. I understand that everyone’s journey is unique, and I’ll be with you every step of the way.
I have worked with people experiencing mental health challenges for over 20 years, including in the Prison Service, where I supported individuals through complex and often difficult circumstances. I worked as a Family Liaison Officer where I supported family members of prisoners who were terminally ill or following the prisoner death.
This experience has strengthened my ability to offer balanced, non-judgemental care to anyone who needs it—always with your safety, dignity, and wellbeing at the heart of what I do.
My first session
Counselling can sound intense and scary so here is an overview of how I intend the sessions to progress:
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. You’ll have the space to talk about what has brought you to counselling, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we can focus on one area at a time, and when you feel ready, we can explore other concerns together.
You’re in control of what you choose to talk about. My role is to walk alongside you, helping us both gain a clearer understanding of what you’re experiencing and why, so we can work toward meaningful change.
