About me and my therapy practice
I am passionate about providing a safe , non judgemental, authentic space for people to come as they are. I believe that being able to express yourself fully is vital to therapeutic change.
I offer a safe space for you to offload, express, explore and 'be' yourself. Therapy can help to unburden yourself, better navigate life, untangle your thoughts and begin to process the past or present.

I am a qualified and registered person centered counsellor. My core approach is person centered/ existential however I am able to tailor my approach to each individual which means I can provide effective therapy for each client looking at their specific needs in a personal way incorporating other approaches if necessary.
Therapy like life isn't linear and the journey is unique to each individual.

Counselling can help you gain insight, reframe areas of your life and offer a different perspective through exploration which assists to improve self worth and confidence and alleviate emotional pain and distress.
Counselling / psychotherapy is a process by which together we will work step by step through the issues and challenges which have brought you to seek therapy. This may include anxiety, depression worry, panic,sadness, adult or child trauma, coping strategies, OCD, loss and grief, self acceptance, relationship issues, relationship loss ( romantic or family relationships), workplace issues, low self confidence, loss of direction or even general uneasy feelings.
Counselling and psychotherapy have the potential to be the ultimate self care.

Practice description
I provide a safe , comfortable space where you can explore your feelings and talk about any issues or challenges you may be facing or want to look at. I will actively and empathically listen to you , providing a confidential space for you to be heard and valued.
Therapy can improve self awareness, self acceptance and overall wellbeing. As well as Feeling valued and being heard.
The session hour is your safe space. I provide a safe, private , welcoming environment.
I offer therapy to adults over 18. I welcome any presenting/ ongoing issues.
I have a particular interest working with complex post traumatic stress/ post traumatic stress, childhood and adult trauma, addiction & coping mechanisms. I also work with couples who struggle with relating to one another & communication issues/ barriers.
If you would like to explore creative therapy using items such as stones, art, sand, Visual imagery/cards, poetry , music , stories etc I am able to provide these materials. Sometimes This way of working can assist the therapeutic process when words are hard to find.
My first session
Once I receive your enquiry I will contact you to offer a free initial telephone contact which helps to answer any questions you may have about counselling. This is usually around 10-15 minutes.
Also I respond to email questions to make sure your aware of the counselling process and explore and manage any expectations before the initial session.
I will send you a client agreement for you to read through prior to our first meeting together. This will provide information about the therapeutic relationship. It is important you read this.
I will aim to answer any questions you have about starting therapy.
The amount of sessions you have is down to you the individual. Some find short-term therapy perhaps six to eight sessions helpful while others seek more long term work.
We can regularly check in during our work to make sure your getting the best from your sessions.
