About me and my therapy practice
“Peggy is a warm, thoughtful, empathetic therapist” Charlotte James MA MBACP
“I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend Peggy. There’s something deeply human in the way she listens, thinks and connects.” Papiya Rozario MA MBACP|
If you’re struggling with anxiety, relationship issues, or going through a breakup or divorce, you may be feeling exhausted by self-doubt, rumination, and emotional ups and downs. You might be longing for greater clarity and calm, and for renewed confidence so you can build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
If we work together, we’ll explore unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour to begin to reduce your stress and encourage new ways of relating. I’ll also pay close attention to what's special about you—your strengths, unique qualities, and what matters most to you—so these can be recognised and developed as part of the work.
I also support people through significant life changes—starting university, leaving home, forming and sustaining relationships, living together, marriage, having children, menopause, retirement, later life, and bereavement. These transitions can be unsettling, and we’ll focus on understanding what’s happening for you, and finding ways you can manage change more comfortably.
Practice description
I’ve a background in women’s psychology and wellbeing, including pregnancy, birth, and parenting, having written and published extensively on these subjects, and worked alongside many pioneers in women's health, including Sheila Kitzinger, Penelope Leach, and Miriam Stoppard. I therefore have particular expertise in women’s life-stage issues and the challenges of parenting, and being parented.
I offer short-term focused therapy and long-term work. If you would like a free initial conversation, we can discuss your needs to determine whether I might be the right therapist for you.
