About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor for Children and Young People, with over 15 years of working with children in an education setting and in private counselling practice.

I truly understand how important the therapeutic relationship is and how finding the right therapist can seem overwhelming. I would love to be the right person for you or your child; please read more about me to see if I can help.

I have a long-standing background in education, and so I bring with me a wealth of experience working with children and young people, from all backgrounds and cultures. With this experience, coupled with my experience of counselling children and young people, I have built up an ability to develop an attuned professional relationship with children, making them feel seen, heard and understood. Within my experience, I have also developed the skills to work with families and carers alongside their children. This experience also means that I ensure safeguarding is paramount to my work.

I am a registered member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and always work according to their code of ethics.

I can help in many areas, including anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, depression, relationships and self-esteem, amongst others.

Practice description

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor for children and young people, able to offer a safe, warm, intuitive environment. I pride myself on being emphatic and non-judgemental, listening attentively to yours or your child's story to build a trusting and authentic therapeutic relationship. I have many years' experience of working creatively, including through the use of the sand tray, painting, clay and drawing. Especially for children, this is often a good way to tell their story without any pressure and to simply be a 'free child'. I am also there to simply listen.

My first session

I offer a reduced rate for the first session, where we have a chat about what led you to reach out for support for you or your child, what you r your child's needs are and what you or your child hope to gain from therapy, and to make sure that we're a good fit for one another.
