Availability
I have availability to work with clients throughout the week. I can work face to face or online. I work from a lovely, welcoming place called ‘the Therapy Suite’ based in Motherwell for face to face sessions.
About me and my therapy practice
On the outside; it may seem like you’re managing. You’re working, keeping up with responsibilities, making sure everyone around you is okay, you’re ’functioning’, but inside it feels very different. You might be constantly comparing yourself to others and feeling like you’re falling behind, questioning who you are or what you’re doing with your life, struggling to believe in yourself at all, struggle to handle difficult emotions/ situations when they arise, have a loud inner critic in your head. You may often internally beat yourself up and think ‘I shouldn’t be thinking this way or feeling that way’ and try push these thoughts and feelings away,
You might overthink everything, hold yourself back from doing things you actually want to do, or feel like anxiety is quietly running the show. This can also show up in your relationships or how you feel about your physical appearance - second guessing yourself, worrying how you’re coming across, or not quite feeling secure in who you are.
Maybe you’re used to being the supportive one that’s there for everyone else but underneath that, you struggle to be kind and compassionate to yourself, you feel not good enough which is keeping you stuck and finding it difficult to move forward.
Practice description
Whether you’re looking to explore a specific issue; trying to navigate life’s challenges or just wanting to build a more positive relationship with yourself and others around you, In our work together, we won’t just talk about what’s happening on the surface. We’ll look at the patterns underneath - where these feelings come from, how you’ve learned to see yourself, and why it feels so hard to make changes even when you want to.
I’m a calm and patient person, and I aim to create a space where you don’t feel judged or analysed. We can go at your pace, there is no rush to talk about something you’re not ready to talk about straight away. I’ll help you make sense of things and start doing things differently so you can feel more confident in yourself, trust your own decisions, stop feeling like you’re constantly holding yourself back and understand healthier ways of managing your emotions/ difficult situations.
My first session
I offer an initial 15-20 minute phone call free of charge. This gives us a chance to have a chat about what’s going on for you and to discuss what a session with me can look like. If we decide to work together, I will ask you to fill in an intake form which includes contact details, emergency contact, GP details and to read through the client agreement form.
