About me and my therapy practice
ADHD, overwhelm, burnout, pressure, never quite switching off?
Check out CounsellorJack.com
I'm Jack, a Counsellor and registered BACP member. I work mainly with adults affected by ADHD, both diagnosed and suspected, and often with the wider difficulties that can come alongside it: stress, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship strain and the feeling that life is harder than it should be.
My additional training in ADHD+ (Cert. in Working Therapeutically with ADHD) and (Cert. in Certificate in ADHD Lifestyle Management and Coaching), both led by leading expert Dr James Kustow, has deepened my understanding of working with adults affected by ADHD, both diagnosed and suspected.
I'm person-centred at the core, which means you lead the work and we move at a pace that feels manageable for you. I aim to offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what's going on, without pressure to have the "right" word or worry that what you're saying might be perceived as "too much".
I am committed to working within the BACP Ethical Framework and to making therapy feel more accessible and less intimidating.
If something is not working, we can start there..
Practice description
Whatever is going on for you, therapy can help you feel less overwhelmed, understand yourself and your relationships more clearly, and build greater confidence in who you are. For many people, this means life begins to feel a little lighter, calmer and more manageable.
You may be dealing with anxiety, low mood, burnout, shame, identity questions or feeling stuck or lost.
You may be new to therapy and unsure what to expect. That is completely fine. You do not need to arrive with a clear explanation or a formal diagnosis.
In our sessions, I can give you the space to explore what is happening, notice patterns in your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and look at what might help. With greater self‑understanding, many people begin to see new ways forward that feel more authentic and sustainable.
If you are thinking about starting therapy, or just curious, I am happy to hear from you.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute introductory chat so you can get a sense of whether I might be the right counsellor for you. This can be by phone or online, depending on what suits you best, and there is no pressure to commit to anything.
It is a chance for us to meet, talk a little about what brings you to therapy, and answer any questions you may have about the process or about me. You can share only what feels comfortable.
If you decide to book a session, I will send you any relevant information beforehand. There is no obligation to continue beyond one session if it does not feel right. If we do work together, we will build a relationship with regular check-ins so you feel heard, supported and able to move at a pace that feels right for you.
If you would like to explore working together, please feel free to get in touch.
