About me and my therapy practice

My approach is warm, compassionate and person-centred. I believe that therapy works best when you feel safe, respected and able to be yourself, without fear of judgement.

I offer a space where you can talk openly about whatever is bringing you to counselling, at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. We can take our time and make sense of things together.

I’ll listen carefully to your experiences and work alongside you to understand what may be happening beneath the surface. We might explore your thoughts and feelings, relationships, past experiences, patterns of behaviour, or the ways you have learned to cope with difficult situations.

Rather than telling you what you should do, I’ll support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself and finding your own way forward. Where it feels helpful, we can explore practical strategies and different ways of responding, so that you can feel more able to manage what life brings.

I understand that everyone is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Our work will be shaped around you, your experiences and what you need from counselling. Sometimes this may involve talking things through; at other times, simply having someone alongside you while you process what you’re going through may be enough.

Most importantly, there is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready. We can go gently, with space to pause and reflect whenever you need to.

My aim is to provide a trusting and supportive relationship where you can feel heard, understood and accepted, while gradually developing the confidence and self-awareness to move towards a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with what matters to you.

Practice description

Reaching out for therapy can feel daunting.

You may be wondering where to begin, what to say, or whether counselling is even right for you. You don’t need to have all the answers before you reach out. We can take things one step at a time, together.

I’m a BACP-qualified counsellor and I believe everyone deserves a safe, welcoming space where they can feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement.

Perhaps you’re experiencing stress or anxiety, difficulties in your relationships, the impact of difficult childhood experiences, or a significant change in your life. Maybe you’re not quite sure what’s wrong, but you know that something doesn’t feel right. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to make sense of everything before we begin.

Some experiences can feel painful, confusing or difficult to put into words. My role is to offer you a warm and trusting relationship where you can talk openly, take your time, pause when you need to, or simply sit and breathe. There is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready.

Together, we can gently begin to understand what you’re experiencing and explore the patterns, thoughts and behaviours that may have helped you cope in the past, but may no longer be serving you in the same way. We’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, finding ways to help you feel more grounded, understood and able to move forward.

I offer confidential and compassionate counselling both face to face and online, so you can choose the setting that feels safest and most comfortable for you.

You don’t have to know exactly what you need before you come. You simply need to take the first step. From there, we can work things out together.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute consultation, either by phone or online, so we can have a chance to connect and get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit.

We can talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you may be hoping for from therapy. I’ll also explain my fees, how I work, and what I can offer you as your therapist. This is a chance for you to ask any questions you may have and to see whether counselling feels right for you.

You may already have an idea of whether you would prefer to work online or in person. We can also have a mixture of both if that feels more comfortable or makes it easier for you to commit. There is no need to have everything figured out before we begin, we can work things out together, at a pace that feels right for you.

There is no pressure or obligation to continue. The consultation is simply a safe and welcoming space for you to explore what you need and whether I might be the right person to support you.

The first session is an opportunity for you to bring whatever feels important to you. Beginning counselling can sometimes feel daunting, and you don’t need to know exactly what to say or where to start. I’ll be there alongside you, offering reassurance, understanding and support as we gently explore what is going on for you.

My hope is that, together, we can create a space where you feel heard, accepted and supported, and where you can begin to find the strength and confidence you may be looking for.

Practice description

I offer a warm, welcoming space where you can talk openly and honestly, without judgement, and at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You will be met with respect, compassion, and a genuine interest in understanding your experience. Your story is your own, and there is no right or wrong way to feel.

If we decide to work together, we’ll gently explore what has been difficult for you and make sense of things in a way that feels manageable and supportive. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. We can take our time and work things through together.

Therapy can offer a safe space to slow down, take a breath and reflect on the different parts of your life. Perhaps you’re experiencing anxiety or low mood, feeling stuck or unfulfilled, struggling to express your needs, experiencing difficulties in your relationships, or carrying parts of yourself that feel difficult to share with others.

Together, we can begin to understand what may be getting in the way and gently explore ways of moving forward that feel meaningful to you. My hope is that, through our work together, you can begin to feel more grounded, more connected to yourself and others, and more able to live in a way that feels true to who you are and what matters to you.

You don’t have to do it all at once. We can take it one step at a time, together.
