About me and my therapy practice

I recognise that talking to people can be hard and you might be sceptical as to how counselling can help you. Perhaps you’ve already tried to open up to friends or family but it hasn’t helped. Therapy is different. I won’t talk over you, judge you or tell you what to do. But I will listen and help support you to bring about positive change. If you want a calming space to sit, reflect and feel understood, I provide that, whilst working at your pace so that you feel supported rather than overwhelmed. Starting therapy can feel daunting — but you’ll find a confidential, professional and relaxed space where you can arrive exactly as you are. My calming and intuitive way of working helps even the most therapy-hesitant clients feel at ease.

Most of my clients say that therapy has helped them to move forward in life, feel more empowered and learn how to take greater care of themselves.

Practice description

Have you been thinking about counselling for some time? Maybe you’ve been putting it off, because you hope that things will get better, or that your problems aren’t important enough to seek help. Taking that first step can be really difficult. Finding the right therapist can be even harder. You might feel anxious, confused and intimidated by the choice. I understand the overwhelm and invite you to take that first step with me.

If you have racing thoughts, worry excessively, or often feel “not good enough”, I can support you. Maybe you’re struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck or perhaps unseen. I can help you find calm, confidence, and a sense that you truly matter. Whether you’re struggling with overwhelming emotions or carrying a quiet heaviness, you don’t have to manage it alone.

My first session

Before our first session, I offer a free 15 minute video call, where I invite you to tell me what brings you to therapy and what you're hoping to get out of it.

If you decide to go ahead, I will send you some paperwork, which includes our contract to work together and an assessment form. You can either complete this form before we meet, or if you'd prefer, we can complete it together in our first session.  It's a good idea to allow a little longer than the usual 50 minutes if we complete the assessment together, but I won't charge extra.

The remainder of our first session will give you time to introduce the main reasons that you're seeking therapy. We might contract to work together for a certain number of sessions, before we review any progress. This depends on how you would like to work; some clients prefer an open ended approach and others prefer to set a number.
