About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor based in Horsham, specialising in supporting teenagers, young adults and parents navigating areas such as anxiety, school pressure, ADHD traits, managing relationships, low mood and family challenges. At Your Listening Space, I offer a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental environment where young people can explore what’s going on for them at their own pace - and feel genuinely heard and understood.

Adolescence can be an intense and confusing time, I work alongside young people to help make sense of their emotions, build confidence, develop emotional regulation skills and feel more equipped to manage everyday pressures - whether that's exams, friendships, identity or feelings of overwhelm.

I have particular experience supporting teenagers who experience ADHD traits, emotional intensity or difficulties with focus and organisation. Together, we explore strengths as well as challenges; creating strategies that feel realistic ans supportive rather than overwhelming.

I also offer sessions for parents and carers who may feel unsure how best to support their young person. These sessions provide space to reflect, understand patterns within the family dynamic and consider practical, compassionate ways forward. Sometimes even small shifts in understanding can make a significant difference at home.

I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring safe, confidential and ethical practice and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

If you're wondering whether counselling might help, I welcome you to get in touch for an initial conversation.

Practice description

I specialise in working with adults, young adults and teenagers.

Teenagers  : Adolescence brings rapid change and emotional intensity. I offer teenagers a safe space to express themselves, process difficult thoughts and feelings, and build emotional understanding and resilience.

- Anxiety, low mood and overwhelm,

School and exam pressure, Friendships and peer relationships

- Self-esteem and identity

- Emotional regulation

- ADHD-related challenges

- Family dynamics and communication

Parents & Carers : I work with parents and carers who are supporting young people through emotional challenges. Counselling offers space to explore your concerns, understand what your child may be experiencing, improve communication, and feel more confident in supporting their wellbeing while also looking after your own.

Young Adults : Early adulthood brings big transitions — from education to work, growing independence, new pressures and important life decisions. I support young adults with:

- Career direction and workplace stress

- Work–life balance and burnout

- Imposter feelings and self-doubt

- Anxiety, overthinking and low confidence

- Relationship challenges

- Life transitions and uncertainty

With my background working in corporate environments, I understand the emotional demands of early careers and modern working life.

My Experience & Background

Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years working in large corporate organisations in people-focused roles. This gave me real insight into workplace pressures, team dynamics and emotional wellbeing. It also sparked my passion for supporting young adults as they enter the working world, helping them manage expectations, build resilience, and feel confident in their career choices.

I have also worked across a range of youth and mental health settings. These experiences help me work sensitively with both teenagers and young adults, as well as parents navigating family challenges.

My first session

At Your Listening Space, I work at your pace, focusing on what you bring to each session. Together, we’ll explore your goals and agree on how we can work towards them in a way that feels supportive and achievable.

I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to meet your unique needs. This means we may explore how your past experiences and relationships shape your thoughts, feelings, and patterns today — helping you to better understand yourself and find new ways forward.

Our sessions can take many forms. We might talk things through, work creatively using images, objects, or materials to deepen your understanding, or explore the connection between body and mind — noticing how your emotional and physical experiences interact.

Sessions can be online, face to face or walking in the many outdoor green spaces that Horsham has to offer.

How do we start?

Once you have reached out I will give you a call to discuss next steps and your initial reasons for wanting counselling. If together we think that I have the experience and skills to support you then I will share more information and we can arrange to meet (online or face to face).

Our first session will be spent looking at how we may be able to work together, what your goals for counselling are and answering any questions you may have to help you make a decision as to whether together we would be a good fit to help you address your challenges and achieve the growth you want from therapy.
