About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative psychotherapist offering a calm, reflective space where you can feel genuinely heard and understood. I work with adults who may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or difficulties within relationships.
My approach is relational and integrative. This means I draw from different therapeutic models and tailor our work to you as an individual. I am particularly interested in how early experiences and attachment patterns can shape how we relate to ourselves and others. Together, we can explore how your past may be influencing your present, and how you might begin to respond to yourself in new, more compassionate ways.
I believe therapy is not about fixing you, but about understanding you. I aim to offer a steady, non-judgemental environment where all parts of you are welcome. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, built on empathy, honesty and trust, as this forms the foundation for meaningful and lasting change.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, therapy can offer the space to pause, reflect and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Practice description
I offer one-to-one counselling sessions for adults in a private and confidential setting. Sessions are typically 60 minutes and usually take place weekly, though we can discuss what works best for you. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, depending on your goals.
In my practice, you can expect warmth, attentiveness, and a collaborative approach. I value your autonomy and aim to create a space where you feel safe to show up as you are. I may offer reflections or help notice patterns, but the pace and focus of therapy are guided by you.
Beginning therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’ve spent a long time putting others first or questioning your own needs. There is no pressure to share everything at once, therapy is about supporting you at a pace that feels manageable.
Confidentiality is a key part of my practice, and I will explain it clearly at the start, including its limits in line with ethical guidelines.
My first session
Your first session is a 60-minute appointment where we begin to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. You don’t need to have the “right words,” and you don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy, therapy is a space to explore and understand yourself at your own pace, and you can show up as you are.
There is no formal assessment to complete beforehand. I prefer to use our time together to get to know you as a person, not just a set of difficulties. We may talk about your current concerns, relevant experiences, and what you hope therapy might offer.
Therapy is a healing relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration. Your autonomy is central, you decide what to share and the pace at which we work. There is no expectation to reveal everything straight away, and we will move at a pace that feels safe and natural, allowing the relationship to develop over time.
My aim is for the first session to feel calm, supportive, and collaborative, so you leave with a clearer sense of whether this feels like the right space for you.
