About me and my therapy practice
I am highly trained in Person-Centered Therapy, this approach places emphasis on creating a warm and non-judgemental environment where you can feel heard and understood.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This approach is particularly effective in helping individuals manage chronic pain, emotional struggles, and life transitions. ACT empowers you to accept what you cannot change, while commiting to actions that match your values and uplift your life. Additionally, my expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) support strategies has allowed me to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, to support long-lasting positive change.
Practice description
I provide a free telephone consultation to discuss your concerns and goals, and to determine if counselling is right for you.
We will discuss your expectations and identify what is necessary to attain the most effective results from your therapy. This is your opportunity to ask questions about the counselling process.
Sessions can range from 6-12 weekly appointments. Clients usually notice improvements by this time frame.
Some clients may require extended sessions due to more complex experiences. We will always review progress regularly.
All sessions are confidential, the counselling room is a welcoming, warm and safe space where you can feel comfortable sharing your experiences.
My first session
During the first session we will discuss the counsellor and client contract. You will be asked to sign the consent form containing information from your initial telephone consultation, an attendance form and a cancellation policy for appointments cancelled within a 48 hour time scale.
