About me and my therapy practice

Feeling anxious, low, or weighed down by the past? You don’t have to go through this alone. I offer online and telephone counselling for adults, supporting you to make sense of what’s going on and take back control of your life.

About Me

I’m Reece, a person-centred therapist and founder of Third Path Therapy. I also currently work as a counsellor at Nottinghamshire Hospice.

I believe therapy works best when you’re met as a whole person, not a set of symptoms to be fixed or managed. Real change is possible when you feel safe enough to be yourself and make sense of your experiences, thoughts, and emotions.

My role isn’t to analyse you. Instead, I offer a space where you can explore what’s going on at your own pace, reconnect with yourself, and work through what’s been holding you back.

I hold a BSc in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience and an MA in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Nottingham.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities, including LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent individuals.

Who I Can Help

I work particularly well with people who feel stuck between who they are and who they feel they should be, and support adults with a range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety and persistent worry
  • Low mood and depression
  • Post-traumatic stress
  • Low self-esteem and self-doubt
  • Life transitions and identity changes

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, person-centred therapy explores what’s beneath them, helping you understand yourself more clearly and move forward in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.

What You Can Expect From Therapy

As therapy progresses, many clients begin to notice meaningful changes in how they feel, think, and relate to themselves.

Over time, they often find they:

  • understand themselves more clearly
  • feel more like themselves again
  • develop confidence and self-trust
  • feel less overwhelmed in daily life
  • feel more in control of their lives

Even if you’re unsure where to start, we can take the time to explore this together.

Practice description

My Approach

Person-centred therapy is built on a simple idea: when you are truly heard, understood, and accepted as you are, real change becomes possible.

At Third Path Therapy:

  • you decide what we focus on
  • sessions move at your pace
  • there is no pressure to perform or “get better” quickly
  • your thoughts and feelings are treated as meaningful, not as problems to fix

Together we create a space where you can reflect, question old narratives, and discover new possibilities for your life.

Why “Third Path Therapy”?

The name reflects the belief that life isn’t limited to simple binaries like coping or failing, or right and wrong.

Often the most meaningful changes happen somewhere in between, when you’re able to explore your own path rather than being pushed in a particular direction.

Therapy here isn’t about ‘fixing’ you. It’s about reconnecting with yourself and finding a path forward that feels right for you.

I also facilitate person-centred support groups, which offer a shared space to connect with others and explore experiences in a safe and collaborative environment. For more information about group sessions, please visit my website.

How Sessions Work

At Third Path Therapy, sessions are shaped around you- your priorities, experiences, and what matters most, with the option to join online or over the phone from wherever you feel most comfortable.

Every session is collaborative, providing a safe, supportive space where you can:

  • speak openly without judgement
  • explore thoughts and feelings as they arise
  • take your time when things feel difficult
  • make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface

This is your time to explore what's on your mind, whenever you feel ready, and in whatever way you choose.

My first session

Getting Started

When you first get in touch, we’ll arrange a free 30-minute initial consultation, which can take place online or by telephone. This is a gentle starting point rather than a therapy session, giving us the opportunity to meet and talk through what’s bringing you to therapy. It also offers space to explore what you’re hoping for, ask any questions you may have, and get a sense of how I work.

From there, we can see whether working together feels like the right fit for you- there’s absolutely no pressure to commit either way.

Taking the Next Step

Finding the right therapist matters.

Taking the next step can sometimes feel difficult, but you’re welcome to get in touch whenever you feel ready.

What I can help with

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Baby loss, Bereavement, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Pet bereavement, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues

Types of therapy
