About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome. I'm Nicola Morley, a psychotherapist based in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, offering talking therapy to adults.

I offer a calm, supportive, confidential space where you can speak openly and feel accepted just as you are. I work with adult individuals from all backgrounds with particular experience supporting people living with ADHD, those affected by narcissistic abuse, childhood trauma, rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse, grief, and life transitions.

My way of working is kind, reflective, and relational, enabling you to evolve at your own pace to a place of greater clarity, self-understanding, and awareness of change. I work out of a beautiful space in St Annes, that has been designed to allow you to relax and feel safe.

I hold a Masters level qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am an Registered Member MBACP of the BACP and an accredited registrant of the NCPS. My commitment to continued professional development ensures that I can offer you relevant psychology processes while remaining ethical, thoughtful, professional and responsive to each person I meet.

I offer a free 15-minute informal telephone or video chat to see if I am the right therapist for you.

Practice description

You may not know it, but you’ve already taken the first step...It can be scary and confusing making the decision to contact a therapist, but in my experience people will struggle with a mental health issue, a personal crisis or problems with a relationship for much longer than is healthy. Sometimes a friend has proved a source of comfort, but this help can only go so far. Realising that resolving a problem requires something more means you have already moving towards improving your life.

With this in mind, I offer a no obligation 15 minute telephone consultation free of charge. This will provide you with the opportunity to ask any questions, and decide if you want to work with me. The relationship we develop plays a crucial role in your therapeutic journey and I'm invested in ensuring you feel comfortable, heard and valued from our first contact.

As a therapist, I work with clients, at their pace with compassion and without judgement. I may offer a gentle challenge from time to time, but always with acceptance and kindness.

I work both online and face to face from a practice based in St Annes, Lancashire.  It is a beautiful premises that is welcoming, comfortable and safe.

Sessions last 50 minutes.

My first session

In our first session, we’ll spend some time exploring what has brought you to therapy, the areas you might like to focus on, and any goals you may have. It’s completely okay if you’re unsure about any of this at the moment — we can take things step by step and come back to these questions whenever it feels helpful.

I’ll invite you to read through and sign a contract. We’ll take our time going through it, and you’re very welcome to ask any questions along the way. I’ll also ask for a few details, such as your name, address, and your doctor’s surgery.

Once we’ve covered these initial bits, we can begin the session and focus on whatever feels most important for you.
