I currently have availability in my therapy room in Paisley town centre for individual face-to-face and online video counselling.  I also offer face-to-face groupwork for those who would prefer to participate in group therapy.

About me and my therapy practice

Healing often begins when we are being heard. My mission is to listen, acknowledge the difficulties, work collaboratively, and empower individuals to take charge of their own mental wellbeing. I will help you make sense of your problems and develop new healthy ways to manage life’s challenges.

I provide therapeutic support for a range of anxiety conditions, including generalised anxiety (and worry), social anxiety, panic, phobias and stress. I also help individuals manage depression, grief, low self-esteem, guilt and shame. I can guide you through relationship issues and explore attachment styles with you; or ease the pressures of feeling overwhelmed. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be used to support individuals with a wide range of issues; so please contact me to discuss any challenges you are facing, and we can explore if we would be a good fit to work together.

I believe in meeting you where you are, offering a blend of lived experience, acceptance and respect to help you navigate your journey. I will provide a safe and validating space; offering you a confidential place to share your thoughts and feelings.

Practice description

As every individual is unique, my therapeutic approach is personalised to your specific goals, circumstances and needs. This means that alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I may use a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches; such as compassion-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy or psychosynthesis; to support you on your journey.

CBT is a talking therapy, which focuses on exploring unhelpful thought patterns, often formed through life experiences. Understanding how to reframe these negative thoughts can contribute to positive change in feelings, emotions and behaviours; and help to break down overwhelming problems into smaller, manageable parts.

I offer a space where you can be heard with care, respect and without judgement. All I ask is for you to be yourself, be open, and share your story. We'll figure things out together, and build a realistic and effective plan to help you reach your goals.

My first session

I understand that life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, and taking this first step can be daunting. Before meeting for the first session, I offer a free 30 minute, no-obligation telephone consultation. This is a chance for you to describe the difficulties you are facing and what you hope to get from counselling. I will explain the boundaries around confidentiality and the structure of future sessions. This lets you assess if you would like to take the next step.
