About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Sarah, a qualified person-centred counsellor with a genuine passion for helping people. I offer a warm, down-to-earth and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about whatever is important to you. My approach is led by your pace, your needs, and your choice of topic.

I believe you are the expert on your own life and experiences. In counselling, you will be fully heard and accepted without judgement. Rather than telling you what to do, I will work alongside you, helping you explore your thoughts and feelings so you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and what feels right for you.

Life can be noisy, and we are often influenced by the opinions and expectations of family, friends, work and social media. Sometimes it can be difficult to recognise what we truly want or need. Having a safe, confidential space to speak freely can help you reconnect with yourself and find a clearer way forward.

You don't need to be in crisis to come to counselling. Many people reach out because they are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or simply want a space to make sense of things. I believe that feeling safe, accepted and understood within the counselling relationship creates the foundation for meaningful change.

People come to counselling for many different reasons, including anxiety, stress, overwhelm, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and life changes. I also have experience working with neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD, and with parents of neurodivergent children who may be navigating the unique challenges that can bring. I offer an inclusive and respectful service for people from all backgrounds and identities.

My aim is to provide a supportive therapeutic relationship where you feel understood, empowered and able to make positive changes in your life.

Practice description

I offer online and telephone counselling for adults aged 18 and over. Sessions are 50 minutes and provide a regular space dedicated to you, giving you time to reflect, process your feelings and experiences, and explore whatever feels important to you.

Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply want to understand yourself better, counselling can provide an opportunity to pause, gain perspective and develop greater self-awareness.

For online and telephone counselling, it's important that you have a quiet and private space where you feel able to speak openly and won't be interrupted. There is no expectation to prepare for sessions, but some clients find it helpful to reflect beforehand on what they would like to discuss.

I aim to make the counselling process feel approachable and comfortable, particularly for those seeking support for the first time.
