About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Wendy.
What brought you here today?
Perhaps you are longing for a space where you can slow down, listen to yourself, and feel genuinely met?
Or you have a sense there is more to who you are?
Perhaps you are seeking more authenticity, more ease, more connection, but aren’t sure how to reach it?
You don’t have to know a way forward; therapy can offer a space where understanding and change unfold gently, in relationship.
I’m a qualified humanistic psychotherapist who sees each person as inherently whole, capable, and worthy of empathic understanding. My work is grounded in gentle curiosity, compassion, and the belief that meaningful change grows through being genuinely met in relationship. Within the supportive and attentive space of therapy, we work together to explore your experiences, ease suffering, and cultivate a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and connected.
Drawing on relational and somatic (body-based) approaches, I pay close attention to how your experiences are shaped through relationships, both past and present, and how they continue to influence your sense of self. Our work will support deeper self-understanding, emotional integration, and the possibility of relating to yourself and others with greater freedom. You’re welcome to bring your full, unique self into our work.
Practice description
I trained as a Humanistic Psychotherapist at HOMA, completing 744 hours of face-to-face training. My training emphasised compassionate, relational therapy alongside a strong commitment to social justice. This means that I am attentive to how power, difference and social inequalities can show up in the therapy room between us, and how these dynamics might be experienced or shape our work together.
Prior to private practice, I worked as a psychotherapist at The Swan Project for people with addictions and as a counsellor at Willows Counselling Service.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in human resources, supporting organisations to nurture talent, foster growth, and create workplaces where colleagues feel engaged and supported. During that time, I completed an ICF accredited Diploma in Coaching.
I also took time out of paid employment to raise my children, a period that deepened my understanding of the importance of self-parenting; the practice of tending to my own emotional needs while caring for others. This experience has profoundly influenced my approach to therapy, highlighting the necessity of self-compassion and conscious parenting in breaking generational patterns and fostering healing.
I value being a visible and accountable therapist. As well as attending regular supervision and ongoing personal and professional development.
I am committed to creating an environment that supports inclusivity and respect of all people regardless of race, colour, culture, religion, spiritual practice, sex, age, body size, gender identity or gender expression.
