Availability
I primarily work face to face, from a quiet location on a leafy road in Camberwell, South London, with good transport links and free on street parking (except between 11am and 1pm). I also practice at The Couch which is in the Bussey Building, Peckham. I am available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
If you are too far away or are unable to attend in person for another reason, I am also available online.
About me and my therapy practice
I work with individuals, couples and groups.
Sometimes what troubles us is not simply what is happening in our lives, but something deeper: patterns we repeat, feelings we cannot quite name, relationships that feel strangely familiar, or a sense that part of ourselves remains out of reach. Psychotherapy can be a way of turning towards these less conscious parts rather than simply silencing the symptoms they produce. Together, we explore the stories, patterns, conflicts and meanings beneath the surface, using memories, dreams, relationships and recurring thoughts as clues to what may have been hidden, defended against or left unfinished.Practice description
Together, we can become curious about what our difficulties might be trying to tell us. By noticing recurring patterns, unexpected feelings, dreams and familiar stories about ourselves, we can explore where they come from and how they shape our lives. With greater awareness can come a different kind of freedom: to feel more whole, relate more deeply, and live with greater possibility.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy recognises that our inner lives are not always expressed directly through words. For those drawn to ideas, images, symbolism or creative expression, these can offer ways of accessing aspects of experience that are difficult to put into words, and such forms of knowing can offer valuable pathways into understanding your inner world.
My first session
I charge £100 for individual sessions, £130 for couples, and will invoice at the end of every month.
The first session is an opportunity to begin to understand what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping might change. We will explore what is happening now, as well as some of the circumstances and relationships that may have shaped the situation.
There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what is wrong or what you need. Part of the work is discovering this together. You may be unsure as to what kind of therapist or therapy you will feel most comfortable with and so to help with this I only charge for the initial meeting if we agree to work together.
