About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor who offers a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours at your own pace. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change, and I work collaboratively with empathy, respect, and acceptance. I currently offer 50-minute face-to-face sessions, as well as online and telephone counselling.

As an integrative practitioner, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor our work to your individual needs. Rather than applying one model rigidly, I adapt my approach depending on your experiences, personality, and goals. This flexibility allows therapy to feel personal, relevant, and responsive to you.

Our sessions provide space to reflect on current challenges and, where helpful, explore how past experiences may be shaping present patterns. You may wish to focus on anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, identity, self-esteem, childhood abuse, sexual violence, trauma or life transitions. Together, we can gently explore these areas, deepen self-awareness, and consider new ways of responding.

I aim to balance emotional exploration with practical support where appropriate, helping you build resilience and develop strategies that feel realistic and sustainable. I will listen carefully, offer reflections, and provide thoughtful challenge when it supports your growth, always at a pace that feels safe.

Beginning therapy can feel daunting, and you are not expected to know exactly what to say or where to start. My role is to walk alongside you, creating a consistent and supportive environment where you feel heard and understood. Whether you are seeking short-term focused work or longer-term exploration, I am committed to supporting you towards meaningful and lasting change.

Practice description

My practice is grounded in the belief that therapy should feel safe, steady, and genuinely collaborative. I offer a thoughtful and containing environment where you can speak freely without fear of judgement or pressure. Whether you arrive with a clear issue in mind or simply a sense that something does not feel right, we begin wherever you are.

Working integratively allows me to respond flexibly to your needs. Some clients benefit from space to reflect and process emotions in depth, while others appreciate a more structured exploration of patterns and coping strategies. I adapt the way we work together so that therapy feels supportive, focused, and aligned with your goals rather than led by a rigid framework.

I work with adults facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief, identity questions, childhood abuse, sexual violence, trauma and periods of change or uncertainty. Our work may involve understanding how earlier experiences shape present responses, strengthening emotional awareness, or building practical tools to navigate day-to-day challenges with greater confidence.

My aim is to provide consistent, professional care that supports insight, growth, and meaningful change over time.

My first session

I offer a free initial 15-minute telephone call as a first step. This gives you the opportunity to briefly share what has brought you to therapy and ask any questions you may have about how I work. It also allows us to get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit for one another. I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to effective counselling, so this initial conversation is an important space for you to decide whether you feel comfortable moving forward.

If you choose to proceed, our first full session is where we begin your counselling journey together. During this session, we will go through the counselling agreement, discuss confidentiality and practical arrangements, and clarify what you would like to gain from therapy. This contracting process helps create clear boundaries and a shared understanding of how we will work together.

There will also be space for you to start talking in more depth about your experiences and what feels most important to focus on. We move at a pace that feels manageable, ensuring you feel safe and supported from the outset. The first session lays the foundation for our ongoing work, establishing trust, clarity, and a collaborative direction for therapy.
