About me and my therapy practice
I’m a humanistic psychotherapist and counsellor based in East London, working with adults in person and online. I came to this work through my own experience of severe anxiety and depression in my twenties - discovering how much it mattered to have somewhere I could show up scared, messy, unsure, and discover new ways to learn and speak about my experiences.
Alongside my clinical training, I’ve spent over twenty years in the music industry, touring internationally and working in creative spaces. That background informs how I understand the pressures of creative life, performance, self-worth, relationships and identity. I welcome people from all backgrounds and life situations, whether you’re navigating anxiety, sadness, confusion, old patterns that keep repeating, a life change, or simply a desire for greater self-understanding.
I completed four years of training at HOMA in London, alongside personal therapy, clinical practice and continued supervision. I draw on Person-Centred and Gestalt traditions within a relational, collaborative approach. In our work together we’ll pay attention to what feels present and alive in the room. We’ll build an honest therapeutic relationship, moving at a pace and rhythm that feels workable for you.
Practice description
I work in a relational, collaborative way, which means we explore what’s happening for you together, noticing thoughts, emotions, patterns and embodied experience, without a fixed agenda. Some people come wanting to understand recurring patterns in their relationships or sense of self, others come with feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, depression, numbness, sadness, or the sense of being stuck in familiar ways of coping. You can start anywhere, without needing a tidy story or fully formed understanding of what’s going on.
I’ll listen to whatever you bring, and we’ll pay attention to what unfolds between us as we talk and explore. I’m interested in how your experiences have shaped you, how you make sense of yourself, and what feels unresolved, confusing or difficult to hold alone. I’m also committed to holding space that’s open to all parts of you, including aspects shaped by culture, gender, sexuality, race, class and life history.
Therapy is something we build together through presence, curiosity and ongoing reflection. Sessions are 50 minutes. I offer both short-term and longer-term work, and while we can agree a focused timeframe if that feels right, I’m particularly drawn to longer-term therapeutic relationships, where there’s space and time for depth, trust and meaningful change to unfold.
My first session
Before booking a first session, I offer a free 15 to 20 minute phone call. This gives you a chance to get a sense of me and ask any initial questions before deciding whether you’d like to begin.
There’s no right way to use your first session. Some people arrive and just start talking. Some share context and explain how they’ve got here. Some sit quietly for a while or burst into tears. However you arrive is welcome.
We’ll begin wherever you are and allow the session to unfold from there. You’re free to ask anything you’re curious or uncertain about, and that remains true throughout our work together.
Therapy with me is usually an ongoing process rather than a single meeting. The first session is the beginning of building a therapeutic relationship, one that develops through consistency, trust, respect and a willingness to stay with and explore what emerges.
