About me and my therapy practice

I am a Gestalt psychotherapeutic counsellor.

I believe that people usually have an inner sense of what’s right for them, however at times, life circumstances can throw us off course, and we may need support to reconnect with a sense of solidity and direction.

I offer a confidential space where we can explore the situation you find yourself in, including the thoughts, feelings, and patterns that are causing you concern. I work with people to help them make sense of their experiences and reconnect with their own sense of choice.

Sometimes we feel stuck because different parts of us want or need different things. I work explicitly with parts of self to help make sense of these internal conflicts.

I also believe that paying attention to body processes can offer important clues about what’s going on. For this reason, I attend to embodied sensations as much as to thought patterns in my practice.

Some of the issues I work with include:

Overwhelming emotions (such as anger, grief, or anxiety)

Loss

Addiction

Depression or low mood

Lack of motivation or hopelessness

Relationship struggles

Life transitions

Isolation or low confidence

Feeling stuck or uncertain

Practice description

Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually at the same time each week.

Sessions are charged at £60.

I am a qualified Gestalt psychotherapeutic counsellor, holding a Clinical Diploma from the Metanoia Institute in London.

Before training as a therapist I worked for eight years in adult and secondary education. Alongside my private practice I support clients at an addiction charity in Bristol.

My first session

We’ll begin with a 50-minute introductory consultation. This gives you a chance to experience how I work, I can answer any questions you may have, and it gives both of us the chance to see whether working together feels right at this time.
