About me and my therapy practice

You carry everyone else’s rucksack. Who helps you with yours?

Perhaps you are the one who keeps the peace, puts others first and feels responsible for how everyone else feels.

Saying no leaves you feeling guilty. You find yourself in the same patterns in your relationships, even when you can see them coming.

Or life has changed, through becoming a parent, a separation or a move to a new country, and you are no longer sure who you are or what you want.

Those patterns make sense. They usually started for good reasons, often in our earliest relationships. Therapy is a chance to understand where they came from and to put down what was never yours to carry.

I am Aurelie, an integrative psychotherapist with an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy, registered with the BACP and UKCP.

My approach is relational and collaborative, drawing on different approaches and ways to understand you as a whole person, including how your past experiences and relationships shape your present.

The relationship between us is at the heart of my work. I will be actively involved in our conversations, bringing curiosity, reflection and honesty. I won’t tell you how to live your life, but I will help you explore what is happening beneath the surface.

I often work with:

  • Relationship difficulties and repeating patterns
  • Family dynamics, boundaries and people-pleasing
  • Shame, self-worth and fear of rejection or abandonment
  • Identity, belonging and life transitions
  • Anxiety, overwhelm and the impact of past experiences

You do not need to have all the answers or know where to begin.

We can start wherever you are, in English or French.

Practice description

Therapy with me is a conversation, not a checklist. I will not sit back in silence and leave you to do all the work, and I will not hand you a set of techniques either.

I will listen closely, ask questions, notice things and share what I’m noticing, so we can make sense of things together.

Sometimes that means looking back at how you learned to cope, in your family or in earlier relationships. Sometimes it is much more about what is happening in your life right now. Usually it is a bit of both. We will follow what feels useful to you, at a pace that feels manageable.

Over time, many people find they can recognise their patterns sooner, be kinder to themselves, and relate to others in a way that feels more like their own choice.

I work with adults (18+), face to face in a quiet, private room in Rugby town centre, or online anywhere in the UK.

Sessions are in English or French, whichever feels more like home to you, and last a full 60 minutes.

We usually meet weekly, although there is flexibility around this.

Therapy can be short or longer term, depending on what you are looking for.

Some people come for a few months, others for longer. There is no set timeframe.

How long we work together is up to you, and we can review it as we go.

Come as you are. Everyone is welcome.

My first session

I have sat in the client’s chair myself, so I know how strange it can feel at first, not knowing where to start or what you are “supposed” to say.

Before we book anything, I offer a free 30-minute video call. It is a relaxed chance to tell me a little about what is bringing you, ask any questions, and see whether we feel like a good fit. There is no obligation to go further.

If we decide to work together, the first session is simply about getting to know you. You do not need to arrive with things neatly worked out or know exactly what you want to say. You can bring the tangled bits, the contradictions, the feelings you cannot quite name yet.

We do not need to make sense of it all straight away.

We can start untangling it together, one thread at a time.
