Availability
I currently have space for new clients, and I’m happy to arrange a free initial chat to see if we’re a good fit.
I offer online sessions Monday to Friday and aim to be as flexible as I can around work, caring responsibilities and family life. Daytime and early evening appointments are usually available, and I’m happy to talk through what would suit you best.
I don’t work weekends.
If you’re not sure which time would work, just let me know when you’re free and I’ll do my best to fit around you. I aim to reply to enquiries within two working days.
About me and my therapy practice
Caring for someone else? Let’s make space for you.
I’m Lauren, a counsellor with a particular focus on supporting people who care for others. Caring can be rewarding, but it can also leave you exhausted, isolated, or feeling guilty for needing anything yourself. Here, you can put yourself first for an hour, without needing the right words or a clear starting point.
Who I work with
I support people looking after a family member, partner, friend or child with additional needs, as well as adults facing stress, overwhelm, low mood, anxiety and life changes.
How I work
I’m a person-centred counsellor. That means I won’t tell you what to do or judge the choices you’ve made. I offer a calm, steady space where you can say what’s really on your mind, at your own pace, and work out what matters to you. You’re the expert on your own life. My role is to listen closely and walk alongside you.
My background
I qualified with a Level 4 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and am a registered member of BACP, working to its Ethical Framework. I’m currently continuing my training with a Level 5 in psychotherapeutic counselling. For over two years I’ve volunteered with York Carers Centre, supporting unpaid carers, which gives me real insight into what carers face day to day. I also have personal experience of living with a long-term health condition, so I understand something of the daily adjustments, uncertainty and tiredness that can come with it.
Getting in touch
If you’re thinking about counselling, I’d be glad to hear from you. Send me a message and we can arrange a free chat when you’re ready. There’s no pressure and no obligation, and you don’t need to have it all figured out.
Just start with talking.
