About me and my therapy practice
There are endless reasons that may bring you to therapy, all of them valid and all of them deserve our care and attention. It may be a particular event, a feeling of overwhelm or a desire to know yourself better. Reaching out and starting therapy is the first step towards taking care of our internal world, nourishing our understanding of ourselves and how we approach and experience our life. I am here to work alongside you on this journey. We will work at your pace, to explore and acknowledge how you’re feeling and what may be underneath it.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor, blending a humanistic and a psychodynamic approach to best support you, the client. Our sessions will provide a safe space, without judgement, for you to explore issues you are facing in the here and now, feeling understood and ‘seen’ in every session. Together we can identify and explore the patterns from your past that may be repeating in your life and understand how they can impact you.
Practice description
I offer both face to face and online counselling sessions, depending on the client's personal preference, location and availability.
I can be contacted by email or phone. In each case I aim to respond within 48hrs.
Following this, it can be helpful to have a free 15 minute phone call. This gives us both a chance to share a bit more detail, ask any questions and decide on a time we can meet for our first session.
My first session
Our first session lasts the full 50 minutes and is charged at the normal rate. It is often described as an assessment session, for both of us. It is a great chance for us to get to know each other better and for you to consider whether our dynamic feels like a 'good fit' for you.
This session is also important for me to gather information and get a sense of what you are looking for in your therapy journey.
