Sessions are held online via Zoom, whatsapp or Google Meet for ease and accessibility.
I offer a free, no obligation, 20 minute initial conversation.
You can bring any questions or concerns, what you are hoping to gain from therapy, or if you don't know, that's ok too! You can tell me as little or as much as you like in this call and it can be as relaxed as you need.
About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you've always felt different. Maybe you are questioning your identity, sexuality, or way of living. You may have low self-worth because of past rejection, shame or abuse. Maybe you have unhealthy coping mechanisms that you want to change.
I'm passionate about finding the part of you you've been hiding or are ashamed of, and helping you acknowledge, embrace, and heal it. I draw on different models and adapt creatively to your needs. I know how important a comfortable working relationship is to helping you be yourself and be vulnerable.
I’m Sarah. I’m an Integrative counsellor and coach with over 6 years’ experience working in mental health, both in the NHS and the Education sector. I come from a Physics, Law and Business background and my wide range of experience helps me understand and connect with my diverse clients. I have worked with addiction, anxiety, bereavement, bipolar, depression, EUPD, loneliness, loss, neurodivergence, OCD, psychosis, schizophrenia, self-harm/ suicidal ideation, stress, and many more.
I'm a different type of therapist and coach - I'm neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ and ethically non-monogamous. There's nothing you can bring that will shock me, and I'm comfortable with all aspects of BDSM and Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity. I’m a trans ally, and enjoy supporting people with gender identity issues, relationships, sexuality, sex/intimacy, abuse, taboos, trauma, addiction and Kink/BDSM.
I work intuitively, getting to know you and what you need. If I feel we are not a good fit, I will discuss this with you instead of using up your time. I want our work to be long-term and meaningful.
If you want to bring your whole, raw, imperfect self to therapy and feel accepted, seen and liberated, get in touch. I am happy with self-disclosure if it helps to deepen the relationship, as I understand the difficulties of sharing everything with a stranger.
Practice description
I have a PostGrad Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching. My integrative approach means I draw from different models to meet your needs and personality. I include coaching when I think it may help you, but I will always discuss this with you first. I see everyone as an individual with their own identity — exploring your unique culture, race, gender, and life experience.
I use:
Psychodynamic to understand your past,
Existential to explore meaning,
Gestalt for the here and now,
Humanistic for growth and self-exploration,
Transactional analysis for relationship issues,
Acceptance and commitment therapy for values and actions,
Person-centred, as you are the most important,
CBT for practical changes,
Coaching to provide a personalised, tailored approach.
I am experienced in somatic and body work.
I have trained in neurolinguistic programming.
I am gentle when necessary, encouraging and challenging when you need me to be. I will never leave you in silence for long (unless you need me to!) and will ensure therapy is a warm, safe, enjoyable and empowering place for you.
Work can either be short-term, for example 6-8 sessions, or open-ended if you are looking for longer term support. I offer online sessions, UK-wide. For international clients, please state this in your enquiry.
