About me and my therapy practice
Finding the right therapist can take time, but reaching out is already a brave and important first step.
Hello, my name is Anita, I am an integrative Counsellor and Advanced Drawing and Talking Practioner, offering online and in person therapy for children, adults and young people. Maybe you having difficulties with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, abuse, physical illness, disability, loss or coming to terms with past life events.
Are you overwhelmed with feelings of despair, hopelessness or low self-esteem, needing some direction and guidance or unsure of exactly what you need or how you feel right now?
Every client is different, and so is my approach, fully tailored to you and your needs. As an integrative therapist, I am able to combine multiple approaches, including person-centred psychotherapy, cognitive, creative, holistic therapies and techniques, including walking and talking, in a safe, caring, empathetic way.
Whether using talk therapy, creative techniques, cognitive behavioural strategies, or practical coping tools, I aim to provide a safe and caring space for you to explore your feelings.
Confidentiality, trust, compassion and autonomy are at the heart of every session – therefore I give every client the opportunity, regardless of age, to be fully involved in planning their support, so we can build a strong, person-centred, therapeutic relationship together.
Practice description
I'm was born in Doncaster and am proud of my English and Indian heritage which gives me true insight into both cultures. Like many people, life has brought its share of challenges, including personal and family experiences of domestic abuse, teenage pregnancy, racial bullying, work-related stress, grief, financial hardship, physical and mental health struggles, body dysmorphia, and eating disorders.
These experiences, while difficult, have shaped who I am and inspired me to train as a counsellor. They allow me to bring genuine empathy and understanding to my work, offering down-to-earth support that is grounded in both lived experience and professional training.
What I value most is helping people of all ages feel heard, understood, and supported — always with a message of hope that things can change.
Specialist support IBD – Bowel Diseases & stoma surgery
I offer specialist emotional support for individuals, families, and friends living with bowel diseases, including those adjusting to life before and after surgery or stoma formation. My approach is deeply empathetic and personalised, grounded in both professional insight and my own lived experience.
Are you experiencing:
Emotional exhaustion and feeling drained
Disconnection from friends, family, or your usual support networks
Anxiety around eating, going out, or social interactions
Frustration with physical limitations
Challenges with body image
Uncertainty about the future
Whatever you are facing – disconnection, anxiety around eating or going out, loss, anxiety, low self-esteem or body image. We know that stress can worsen symptoms, so together we'll work with both mind and body, finding ways to assist you in feeling calmer, more confident and fully supported – recognising the connection between emotional wellbeing and physical health.
You can be assured of a truly empathic, non-judgemental approach to whatever you are feeling.
My first session
I recommend booking an initial session to assess your needs and give you a chance to meet with me to determine my suitability, answer any questions you have and give me an opportunity to explain how I work. This meeting is vital, as finding the right therapist is key to your being fully supported on your therapeutic journey. You can be assured of my confidence always as we explore what is important to you.
