About me and my therapy practice

My way of working is integrative, which means I draw on more than one approach and tailor therapy to you as a whole person — your feelings, thoughts, relationships, and the wider context you’re living in. We’ll go at your pace, and we’ll agree together what feels most helpful to focus on.

At the heart of my work is a person-centred foundation: I aim to offer a relationship that feels safe, genuine, and respectful, where you can speak openly without fear of judgement. I work with empathy, authenticity, and warmth, and I hold a strong belief in your autonomy — that you are the expert in your own experience and capable of change. In practice, this often involves careful listening, reflecting back what I’m hearing, and helping you make sense of patterns with more clarity and compassion.

Alongside this, I bring an existential focus when it fits: making space for questions of meaning, identity, freedom, responsibility, and the realities of uncertainty and change. Therapy can be a place to explore what matters to you, what feels stuck, and what a more honest or aligned way forward might look like — including the tensions we all face around choice, limits, and how we want to live.

Being also trained as a coach, when it’s appropriate, I can bring in coaching techniques and structured tools alongside counselling to offer a more holistic service. This can help if you want both emotional depth and practical forward movement — for example, clarifying goals, identifying barriers, strengthening boundaries, or building sustainable habits.

Depending on your needs, we may move between “being with” (slowing down, feeling understood, exploring your inner world) and “doing with” (developing strategies, making plans, practising new responses).

This flexible balance is especially useful for people in high-pressure or high-expectation environments, where performance, perfectionism, responsibility, and self-criticism can take a toll.

Practice description

I offer individual counselling (and coaching-informed support where appropriate) for adults in a calm, comfortable, and confidential space

People come to see me for many reasons — feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, low in confidence, navigating relationships, life transitions, or questioning direction and meaning.

Some clients are in high-pressure or high-expectation roles and want support with stress, burnout, perfectionism, or feeling they must always hold it together. Others come simply wanting a steadier relationship with themselves and the people around them.

I offer both online and in-person (Battersea / Clapham Junction) sessions of 50 minutes, usually weekly or fortnightly.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within the BACP Ethical Framework, including regular supervision.

If you’re considering therapy, you’re welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation.

My first session

The first step would be a free 20 minute introductory call to establish whether working together would be a good fit

Research suggests that a strong therapeutic relationship and a good fit — feeling understood, collaborating well, and working in a way that suits you — are among the most important ingredients in effective therapy.

Our first session is a chance to slow down and get a sense of what’s been happening for you. We’ll explore what you’d like from therapy, what has (and hasn’t) helped before, and what feels most important right now.

From there, sessions are collaborative: sometimes reflective and exploratory, sometimes more structured and practical, depending on what you need.

We can review our work as we go so therapy stays meaningful and responsive.
