About me and my therapy practice

I work with adults of all ages. As an integrative therapist, I can draw on a range of therapeutic approaches (e.g., humanistic, psychodynamic, CBT) according to what is likely to be most helpful to you specifically. For trauma, I'm also trained in EMDR, an evidence-based therapy that helps people process traumatic or difficult experiences.

I am especially able to support on issues related to parenting challenges, childhood trauma, childhood bereavement, or adverse childhood experiences, as well as identity and life transitions, including bereavements, job loss and immigration.

I also have a background in business and executive coaching, giving me a particular understanding of the challenges that can accompany career change, leadership, professional identity and significant life transitions, alongside their related personal and emotional dimensions.

My aim is to offer a safe, thoughtful, and compassionate space where you feel heard, understood and supported. Sessions tend to feel more like a genuine conversation than something formal or clinical. I will follow your lead on what feels important, while also gently challenging you where it feels helpful. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, including about the things that may be difficult to say out loud.

Practice description

I see clients online, and in-person, from consulting rooms on Wimpole Street (Marylebone) and West London (Earls Court).

I offer short-term/time limited therapy, where you may choose to focus on a specific issue, as well as long term, open ended therapy.

Therapy sessions are weekly, and 45-50 minutes long.

For EMDR processing sessions, I may book double sessions, to ensure there is enough time to complete the particular processing sequence you are working on. Sessions can be scheduled weekly or closer together.

You might be wondering whether therapy could help, and what it might be like to talk something through properly. This may be due to, e.g., anxiety, low mood, trauma, a loss, a difficult relationship or situation. Or, just a sense that something needs attention.

Whatever has prompted that thought, you are very welcome to get in touch to discuss whether therapy feels right for you. I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation online. This is an opportunity to discuss starting therapy, and what you are hoping to gain from it, while also giving you a chance to see whether it feels like a good fit. There is no pressure or obligation.

You will always be met with warmth, compassion and respect. Do get in touch whenever you feel ready, You don't need to explain everything in a first message, even a line or two is enough to get started and set up an initial meeting.

My first session

The first session, and sometimes part of the second, will be used for a more in-depth discussion to build a fuller understanding of your current situation, your background and what has brought you to therapy, so that, together, we can consider the most helpful way forward. It also gives you time to experience how I work and decide whether the therapeutic relationship feels right for you before settling into ongoing therapy.

If you are contacting me about EMDR therapy specifically, a large part of the first session will include an explanation of EMDR therapy, what to expect, and whether we feel it would be right for your particular situation.
