About me and my therapy practice
I work with adults on a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement and life transitions. I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy, and we would agree together what feels right for your situation. I use an integrative approach, meaning I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what is most useful for you and your situation. For trauma, I am also trained in EMDR, an evidence-based therapy that can help process difficult experiences.
In the room, I am warm and direct — sessions tend to feel more like a genuine conversation than something formal or clinical. I will follow your lead on what feels important, and I will also gently challenge you when that seems useful. The aim is for you to feel safe enough to be honest, including about things that might be hard to say out loud. Before retraining I spent many years in business and executive coaching, so I am equally comfortable working with people on career and identity questions as I am with deeper personal and emotional difficulties.
Practice description
I offer therapy from private practice spaces in the Harley Street District and South Kensington/Chelsea, within easy access of the Underground. I work with adults on a wide range of difficulties including single event trauma, complex trauma, 'small-t' trauma, traumatic bereavement, anxiety, depression, loss, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Sessions typically last 50 minutes and I offer both short-term work and longer-term open-ended therapy, depending on what you are looking for, and what seems most appropriate for your situation. I mainly work in person, but am able to offer short-term therapy (up to 6 sessions) online.
I am an integrative therapist, which means I tailor your therapy by drawing on my knowledge of a range of approaches, in collaboration with you. I also have a background in business and executive coaching, so I am well placed to work with people navigating career change, leadership challenges, identity questions, or significant life transitions alongside more personal and emotional difficulties. Whatever brings you, my aim is to offer a space that feels safe, understanding, and genuinely supportive.
My first session
I offer a free 15 to 20-minute initial consultation on Zoom. This is a chance for you to tell me briefly what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to get from it, and for us to get a feel for whether we are a good fit before you commit to anything. There is no pressure and no obligation.
If we decide to go ahead, the first session — and sometimes part of the second — will be used for a fuller assessment. This is simply a chance for me to properly understand your situation, your background, and what brought you to therapy, so that we can think together about the best way to work. It also gives you more time to get a sense of how I work and whether it feels right for you before we settle into a way of working together.
