About me and my therapy practice

Have you been diagnosed with Autism or ADHD later in life? Have you always felt there was something missing in your self-understanding and neurodivergence is the answer?

Do you struggle with thoughts around food or disordered eating?

Do you live with chronic pain or long-term health conditions?

Do you need assistance in addiction recovery?

Have you experienced a combination of or all of the above?

I offer a calm and supportive space where you can explore these experiences at your own pace. Neuroaffirmative and trauma-informed, I work with adults and young people facing challenges related to Autism and neurodivergence, eating disorders, chronic pain and addiction.

Alongside my counselling training, I bring over twenty years of experience working in healthcare. This background has shaped my understanding of the close relationship between physical health, emotional wellbeing and life experiences. My work is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and collaboration, with the aim of helping you feel heard, understood, and supported.

I have lived experience of neurodivergence, which informs my approach to therapy and gives me unique insights around the emotions that accompany late diagnosis and Autism related difficulties.

Practice description

I work in a pluralistic manner, which means we can draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you at any given time.

I work mainly online, allowing you to remain in a comfortable environment whilst utilising a range of approaches. I can offer face to face appointments to individuals local to Fife.

I use a range of therapeutic models including:

• Person-centred therapy

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

• Transactional Analysis

• Narrative therapy

• Gestalt

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe that therapy should feel collaborative, respectful, and tailored to your individual needs.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. My aim is to create a space where you feel comfortable bringing whatever feels important to you.

Before your first appointment I will ask you to complete some forms and agree to our counselling contract - this gives us both clarity around the process and logistics of counselling.

Together we can explore your experiences, develop new perspectives, and find ways of moving forward that feel meaningful and manageable.
