About me and my therapy practice
I’m a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP, and the founder of Rooted Within. Alongside my private practice, I volunteer as a counsellor with CFC Altrincham.
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role isn’t to fix you or tell you what to do. It’s to listen, stay curious and work at your pace, with no rush.
Rooted Within is built on the belief that who you are, and what you carry, deserves to be understood rather than hidden. Your background, culture and experiences are welcome here.
Reaching out can feel like a big step. You’re welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation, with no pressure to commit.
Practice description
At Rooted Within, I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly about what you’re carrying, without judgement and without being rushed. I work in a person-centred way, so you set the pace and decide what we explore.
I support people experiencing trauma, grief and loss, as well as a range of personal and emotional difficulties. Culture, background and identity shape how we experience the world, and you’re welcome to bring all of that with you.
Sessions are 50 minutes. We’ll begin with a short introductory call so you can ask questions, and if you’d like to continue, we’ll arrange an initial assessment session to see whether we’re a good fit. There is no obligation to continue.
I’m a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP) and work in line with its Ethical Framework. Sessions are confidential, within limits we’ll talk through together at the start.
My first session
Before we book anything, we’ll have a free 20-minute introductory call. It’s a chance to ask me anything about how I work and to get a feel for whether I’m the right person for you, with no pressure to commit.
If you’d like to go ahead, we’ll arrange an initial assessment session at a time that suits us both. It lasts 50 minutes and is charged at £30. It’s a space to talk about what has brought you here, share as much or as little as feels comfortable, and think about what you’d like from counselling. We’ll also talk through how I work, confidentiality and practical arrangements. You’re in the lead throughout, and there’s no obligation to continue afterwards.
