About me and my therapy practice

As a psychosynthesis counsellor my approach is transpersonal, relational and integrative. It is a form of talking therapy and the process involves weekly, 1:1 sessions, long term.

Initially, the therapy is about getting to know you and the issue you are currently facing. In order for therapy to be effective, we need to develop a therapeutic relationship which takes time and regular commitment.

The intention of psychosynthesis is to develop awareness of aspects of ourselves that may be hidden, repressed or denied; so, we will explore what is happening for you now as well as relevant aspects of your lived experience that will be contributing to this. This process happens slowly over time as we make the unconscious, conscious and we will only ever go as far as you choose to.

Creative techniques including visualisation meditations, drawing or active imagination can be integrated into the process, when appropriate. It's about working together to find what is most supportive for you and allowing that process to unfold over time.

We will have reviews throughout the work to check in around how you feel the process is going until you no longer need therapy to support you.

Practice description

I offer online or in person sessions. In person sessions are subject to room availability and they are currently held at The West London Buddhist Centre, W2 5DP.

Below is the process that you can expect to follow if you would like to work together:

An optional discovery call (10 x minutes; no charge)

If you're unsure about any aspect of the process or would prefer to speak before booking an initial assessment this can be a good place to start.

Initial assessment (1 x hour; £80)

This session is about understanding what’s bringing you here, what you’d like to change and whether we feel like it is appropriate to work together.

Weekly sessions (50 x minutes; £80)

I work long term so there is no set amount of time that this process needs to last. Therapy is a commitment to yourself so in order to for it to be effective, it has to be consistent. We will have reviews throughout the process to check in around your needs, how you are finding the process and how long you would like it to last.

My first session

Ahead of the initial session, I will ask you to send me an email with a few basic details for my records including your name, number, GP details, emergency contact number and a brief outline of your reasons for coming to therapy.

The initial session will be 1 x hour and I will ask you a number of questions to get a bigger picture of you, your current situation in life and your history to get a sense of whether I am the right person to support you and what directions may be important to explore in our work together.
