About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Sara.
I provide support to mums who are navigating challenging co-parenting dynamics, including those adjusting to arrangements where their child lives mainly with their father, helping them to feel confident, empowered and heard.
As a mum with lived experience of this kind of arrangement, I understand that spending time away from your child can bring up a wide range of feelings including grief, guilt, doubt, shame, anger, and perhaps sometimes relief as well. Regardless of how the arrangement came about, whether it was carefully chosen or shaped by circumstances, it may be that you are struggling to come to terms with it, experiencing self-doubt or questioning your identity as a mother.
I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental online space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard and understood.
You might be:
- Questioning whether you are a “good enough” mum.
- Carrying guilt, shame or self-blame.
- Withdrawing from others, including other mums, because of fear of judgement.
- Navigating difficult co-parenting dynamics.
- Living at a distance from your child.
- Struggling with anxiety, low mood, or loss of confidence.
- Re-examining your identity as a mother and as a woman.
If any of this resonates, you are not alone.
Together, we can gently explore your experience and make sense of the emotions that come along with challenging co-parenting dynamics.
I can support you with:
- Guilt, shame and self-criticism.
- Grief and the loss of the motherhood you may have imagined.
- Rebuilding confidence and self-esteem.
- Healing from difficult or unhealthy relationships.
- Anxiety, low mood and overwhelm.
At the heart of our work together will be the belief that motherhood is only one part of who you are. Our work can also focus on strengthening your wider identity; recognising and valuing all the parts of you that exist alongside being a mother so you can live a life which feels authentic and meaningful to you.
Practice description
Why work with me?
- I have lived experience of navigating a challenging co-parenting arrangement so, while every mum's journey will be different, I have some understanding of how difficult it can be. This means that you do not have to worry about feeling judged or being misunderstood.
- Working online means it is easy for you to attend sessions without having to worry about making time in your day for travelling to and from sessions. It is easy to fit sessions around your day-to-day activities.
- I have trained specifically to be able to work safely and ethically online and therefore understand how to create a space for our work which feels safe and confidential.
- You can access sessions with me quickly without worrying about being placed on a waiting list for weeks or even months.
My first session
Following your initial contact, I will arrange for us to have a brief phone call, free of charge. This is so I can gain a brief overview of your presenting issue and so you can ask any questions you have about what our work together will look like.
Should you decide to proceed, all sessions will last for 50 minutes and be charged at £50 per session. I am able to work flexibly and can either offer you sessions on the same day and at the same time each week, or you can choose to have your sessions on different days and at different times each week, depending on your schedule.
