About me and my therapy practice

I imagine you may be here because something in your life isn’t working as it once did. Perhaps you find yourself going over the same difficulties, feeling unsettled by change, or questioning who you are becoming. You might be adjusting to parenthood, navigating loss or a relationship shift, facing career pressure or burnout, or carrying questions about your sense of self and direction.

I work with adults navigating these kinds of transitions. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and reflective, often carrying a great deal, and looking for a space where they can think more freely and honestly. My approach is relational and grounded. I am interested not only in what has happened to you, but in how those experiences live with you now. Together we take time to explore what feels difficult, look at the patterns and beliefs that may have shaped you, and consider what may no longer feel helpful. There is space in our work for uncertainty, complexity and mixed feelings.

Therapy with me is collaborative and paced with care.

Practice description

You don’t need to arrive with the right words or a clear plan. We begin wherever you are.

Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly at a regular time. Therapy can be short-term and focused, or longer-term and open-ended, depending on what you need.

Everything we discuss is confidential within the ethical framework of the BACP. I attend regular supervision and ongoing professional development to support safe and reflective practice.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I will ask about what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping for, and you are welcome to ask any questions too.

You do not need to prepare anything in advance. We begin with whatever feels most present for you. Some people arrive with a clear sense of what they want to explore; others are less sure. Both are welcome.

I may ask about your current situation, important relationships, and relevant aspects of your history, but we will move at a pace that feels manageable. My aim in this first meeting is to begin to understand what matters to you, to offer a calm and thoughtful space from the outset.

At the end of the session, we can reflect on how it felt and decide together whether to continue. There is no obligation beyond that.

If we decide that I am not the right therapist for you, I may be able to suggest alternative therapists or you may wish to explore the BACP therapist directory.
