About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Becky. I am a qualified Person-Centred therapist holding a BSc (Hons) in Person-Centred Pluralistic Counselling (Advanced Practitioner) from the highly regarded Metanoia Institute. Alongside my face-to-face work, I am fully certified to deliver therapy online and over the telephone.
My approach is grounded in creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where you feel genuinely heard and understood. Because no two people experience life in the exact same way, my training allows us to tailor our work together to what feels most supportive for you.
Healing isn't about creating a new version of yourself; it's about gently peeling back life's protective layers to reconnect with who you’ve been all along. Depending on what feels right for you, our work can offer a space to:
Reconnect with who you are at your core, growing in self-compassion and resilience while creating space for deeper, healthier connections with others.
Understand, feel, and transform the emotional and physical patterns that have become tangled through anxiety, stress, overwhelm, or trauma so you can find relief, deepen self-compassion, and reconnect with your authentic self.
Safely navigate past and present struggles to ease anxiety or shame, gently releasing rigid beliefs and protective habits you may be carrying.
Practice description
My practice is rooted in my lifelong curiosity about the mind-body connection, I understand that deeply painful experiences are stored not just in our minds, but also in our bodies. By bringing a somatic (body-aware) lens to our work, my role is to help you track your body’s responses and support your nervous system to regulate and navigate those feelings without feeling overwhelmed.
Whether you prefer traditional reflective talk therapy, or feel that being outside in nature walking side-by-side would feel more comfortable than sitting face-to-face, we can find what works for you. Many people find that movement and open space can naturally help conversations flow and offer a gentle way to process emotions.
Sometimes, finding the words to express what we are carrying can feel incredibly difficult. When words alone aren't quite enough, creative methods can offer a different way forward. I provide optional, creative helping hands, such as working with a sand tray, nesting dolls, or image work. There is zero pressure to use these tools; they are simply available if and when you choose to use them, or if you want to give your analytical mind a rest.
My first session
Deciding to start therapy can feel like a big step, and there is no obligation to commit. If you feel we might be a good fit, you are welcome to contact me for a free, informal 20-minute video or phone call. This is simply a space for us to introduce ourselves, see how it feels to talk, and chat about what you are looking for, with no pressure to make a decision right away.
